Phil asked if he could take this candid shot as a memento. Note the cigarette - we were the cigarette and cinema generation (fags and flicks). I haven't smoked since 1977.

Charming Charming picture, my dear Pat...We certainly were the cigarette and cinema generation....
I've been "clean" since 1970! It still amazes me that we all smoked, all the time. Incredible, isn't it?
Wow, Pat...history! Did you see the piece the BBC did on Alan Sillitoe and smoking - pictures and interview. Very illuminating. How things change.
Naomi: you are always ahead of us in the States. I stopped in 1977 after a visit to a health farm. It was so expensive I thought I had better not waste the money.
Penny: no I really would have liked to see that. It was almost a fashion statement with us. Gave us an air of sophistication
Ohhhh boy, I wonder if Maybel had seen a photo of you, you look so glam, Pat :-)
They'll edit the cigarette out one day. Like the did to Brunels cigar.
Lovely as usual! I think Mabel was jealous!
GG: that I don't know.
4dL they can't - it's my photo. Edit it at their peril!
Judy: could be. I certainly never had any designs on Mr Pickles!
