Naomi: thank you and all my best wishes to you and Sweetie. I can't wait to show his photo to my younger son who is devoted to cats.

Jan: that makes me very happy. I seem to be having a lemon phase - we had a lovely tarte au citron yesterday - courtesy of Tesco.

Eryl: and to you honey. Nose to the grind-stone today! I slept late - it's 10.23 and I still haven't had breakfast.

Kim: lots of phone calls from family in Florida, Australia and France and UK but in person just the two of us which was grand, so I got out all the best china, silver and crystal which I never do these days. It's the Irish in me. I think Hogmanay is your big time so I hope it is great.
