Roasted butternut squash soup with a hint of chilli - this was sooo good. Duck and pork pate with red onion marmalade and toast. Serious stuff. Good vegetables Turkey, bacon wrapped chipolata, chestnut and hazelnut stuffing and fresh cranberry sauce. All that delight and no sweat.
What beautiful looking food - I'm still drooling over the duck and pork pate.
Confess I'm actually looking forward to taking over my parents kitchen to cook xmas dinnerfor us. As it is Summer here I expect things to be a bit sweaty!
Have a wonderful Christmas, Huggles from downunder.
Kanani: I honestly could not have done it better and could really enjoy it.
Mickle: I hope it all works out - lovely for your parents and great experience for you. Part of our famly are sweating it out in Australia. Happy Christmas!
Sablonneuse: I also watched Nigella - a feast in itself and absolutely everything is spiced and fruited and herbed which I think I would get a bit sick of so good job I'm not invited:)
Grand mother but still a girl at heart. Married to MTL(my true love)after a separation of 30 years. Had three careers: trained paediatric nurse, National photographic model and business woman. Now settled in SW and enjoying our five children and ten grandchildren and making the most of what time we have left.
In January 2013 I lost MTL.

Yummy, apart from the turkey! Yuk.
You've made me starving Pat -not good two hours before dinner.
It looks a good old scoff!
John.g: well that's my conventional Christmas dinner over and done with.
Anna: the good thing was I didn't feel at all stuffed afterwards, just entirely satisfied.
Carew... I wonder whether it's twinned with our Seaton Carew.
Turkey rules!!
Krimo: that would be fun. I've always loved the name - reminiscent of Bertie Wooster.
It looks really great! And I agree --nothing like having someone else do all the cooking.

That all looks sooooo good. I watched Nogella Lawson's programme when she made butternut squash and sweet potato soup. I'm tempted to try it.
