A Welcome Visitor

He ignored the fountain but loved the arbour and basked long enough for me to run upstairs and get my camera. Wouldn't it be great to have gossamer wings?

Pat, it would indeed be a gift to soar on gossamer wings and be a free spirit in Mother Natures garden.

You already have your wings hen... and sometimes through your eyes and your enchanting words we all experience your wonderful flights.

Jimmy@ that's my favourite comment - thsnk you honey.
I've just dropped comment moderation and now it seems they go straight to the post so I'll have to keep my eyes open.

Pat, aye.. it always pays to be alert for the trolls who like to leave silly remarks.

Such is life.

Wonderful photo!

I can stick some gossamer wings on in photoshop if you want :)

Well Jimmy beat me to my comment. Consequently, I will suggest you head to Ben Nevis and take up hang gliding.

Cheers.

Kim: I'll try to cultivate a fairy godmother face and then yes please;}

Randall: but which of Jimmy's comments? Eulogising or egging me on to an early(ish) demise?

John.g: well it was the best of five - I must confess.

You do still get comments sent to your email though? - otherwise you'll have to keep checking.

We have dragonflies, as there's lots of water about for the nymphs to develop in. Unfortunately, the downside is that they eat all my tadpoles, they and the great diving beetle larvae. Still a great pleasure to see them, and the adults eat insects so on balance I'd rather have them!

Z: no they don't and i do have to keep checking. I don't know how to get them sent to my e-mail - which is what they did originally. Any ideas?

Great photo, the colors are fabulous on the dragonfly. . . they show up on my computer lime green and robins egg blue.
We have Dragonflies in Tucson but I don't see too many.

Lovely photo. These kind of bugs always fly off by the time I've found a camera.

Yes, go to the Blogger dashboard (if you can't see a link, go to 'new post' and then it'll appear right at the top). Then go to 'settings', then 'comments'. At the bottom, there's 'comment Notification Email'. Fill in your email and you'll get 'em.

Rather nicely, the wv is 'consentl'

Parsnip: I was so lucky he was inanimate for ages.

Rashbre: I think he was in a sort of torpor - if that means what I think it means.

Z: thanks for that. I'll give it a go.

Cinnamon: I'm glad I persevered now:)

An excellent photo. I envy you the dragonfly. About once a year a few will buzz through on migration but they never linger.

Awesome coloring! Love black spots on the wings

Naomi: glad you like him. I'm assuming he's a boy for no special reason except he's a bit lazy:)

Kevin: maybe you'll get lucky. It's the first time for me too.

Kath: aren't they pretty?

apologies, Pat, I've memed you

Pat said...

Kevin: I'm feeling mellow so will forgive you but it's bed-time so will be over tomorrow. Tea with milk please and I'll bring my hermasetas.

He is such a gorgeous creature, fab colours, and his wings look almost too delicate to be of use.

He's beautiful, and it's a great shot; I love the light and the shadows.

Pat said...

Kanani: wouldn't that be great?

Eryl: I suppose with that long body he flies like a glider.

Queenie: more luck than judgement- shoot a few and pick the best. One of the joys of digital.
