I was thinking as I was reading along and then looking at all the BEAUTIFUL Pictures...It has to be very painful for them to leave this gorgeous garden that was created with such love....It is really exquisite! And I am always surprised when I see pictures that show mountains in the background----I never think of England as having all these montains, and yet, I know it does....crazy, I know. I know you will miss your dear friend a lot when she moves....!
Naomi: the Scots would laugh their heads off if I called the Somerset hill mountains but they are in miniature and many people think Exmoor is a miniature Scotland. I think it is always the ones left behind who feel the saddest. They will have their family and the excitement of a new house and creating a garden. The present garden is not ideal for anyone with arthritis. I think they will miss the people mostly.
Grand mother but still a girl at heart. Married to MTL(my true love)after a separation of 30 years. Had three careers: trained paediatric nurse, National photographic model and business woman. Now settled in SW and enjoying our five children and ten grandchildren and making the most of what time we have left.
In January 2013 I lost MTL.

What a gorgeous place! No wonder you like to walk there. The far off views are great, too.

Judy: I'm going to make the most of it whilst they are still here. They haven't sold the house yet so it could be some time.
what a lovely garden
lom: it's by no means an easy garden - most of it is on a slope and walking on the many paths I feel drunk when I'm cold stone sober.
Beautiful garden and views!
