Train of Thought

My poppies reminded me of this song from my childhood - before WW2. Then I remembered it is the 65th anniversary od D Day on Saturday. Shame no-one thought to invite Her Maj.

No kidding! She only served in World War II. God bless her, she's seen it all.

I actually read yesterday that the French did eventually invite her (much, much too late) but that she has declined. I believe that Prince Charles is going in her stead.

Eryl: It is quite orangey in the flesh.

John.g: Churchill would be rolling in his grave.

Kath: at least some of the Tories know how to behave. I think President Obama had a word with Sarkovsky.

Beautiful poppies, Pat. My father was stationed in England during the war, and my father-in-law was also in Europe. I wrote about them today, this 65th anniversary of D-Day.

Debra: I watched the ceremony in France on TV. As usual it was very moving. I'll be over to see our post.
