The finished table. What really put me off buying another was having to dump this one. Great what a spot of paint can do.
Paint marks on the floor have been there for years, Not left by me!
The balcony is heavy with the scent of jasmine. I'm sure I have told you before but it was a tiny pot plant.

How did you get the jasmine to grow that big?
Wont: pure chance! It's facing south, a bit of tomato feed and my # 1 son gave it to me.
that table looks most elegant - as you say, amazing what a spot of paint can do but best thing is the bottle on it (can I come and stay with you if that's what you do for all guests?) - must go - off to yoga!

funny thing, though - I had one on a chair lift about 3 weeks ago! I just brushed against LOML as I sat down and whoosh! I was off. Never happened spontaneously like that before. Had to bite my lips and tense up to avoid the give away as I had BS on my other side! It was hard to stand up and ski off at the top - in fact my run down was appalling as my legs were all wobbly!

Sam: typically we don't use it nearly enough and ususally have our snifter in the garden. I'm going to change that now.
Belle : that's interesting. We have to be careful not to embarrass the
boys but I wonder if anyone else has had an unusual happening in an unexpected place?
Naomi: some years ago I took it out of the pot and put it in a small bed by the front door. It had had a rose in - which died so I wasn't too hopeful. The bed is only less than 2' square. I have to constantly cut it back and the scent gets everywhere.
Bought a tiny jasmine pot myself years back. Got a bloody great bush now.

Can we please NOT turn this into 'unusual places where I've had sexual experiences'. Call me old-fashioned but there's plenty of excellent sites already catering for that sort of thing.

I'm a complete novice at this anyway - here am I in my late 50s and that was the first time ....
appreciate that such odd happenings are pretty much a girlie thing (unless you believe that sketch on the Fast Show) but Andrew is being a bit ... ?

Lovely balcony. English houses don't often have balconies. A great mistake in my opinion. Mine is making do with a blue fold-up picnic chair and an old coolbox at the moment but it will look as dainty as yours before long.
Daphne: believe me both balconies have veered from downright scruffy to present passable. These things take time and we've only been here for 13 years. And the cobwebs!!!

gorgeous balcony, sugar, and what a view! seems as if we were both on the same DIY kick! i should take some pics of my spruced up screened in porch! (i think i'm going to look for a jasmine plant to hang/plant nearby!) xox

I think I'll copycat you and plant a jasmine in a small pot in our veranda.
Our veranda is scruffy and crowded with orchids [more leaves than flowers] but I love it.

Oh Pat, what a lovely view that is from the balcony. It must be a gorgeous place to sit and have a coffee!
That table looks good as new. Michele sent me over to admire it.
