Two Nice Girls

Aside

I met these two charmers outside the Post Office at Instow - as sweet and well behaved as they looked. Chatting to their owner he told me he was feeling a bit on edge because he had a hospital appointment for a check up. He had been clear for two years and was going to walk his dogs to calm himself. Fingers crossed that all is well.
There will be more Instow Pics next week - after the next episode of Past Imperfect. And then there is the penultimate Coleridge Way Walk which did for my big toe nails alas. I'm going to be busy.

Lovely dogs. Did you find out if they were related? I. too, hope their owner's check up went well.
By the way, I enjoyed your story on the storytellers' blog.

Cheers.

Instow is a lovely place I think. Seems years since we went there. Well, it is years since we went there.....

4d: I don't expect it's changed much.

Randall: you are very patient:)

Sablonneuse: the little one was Polly - that's all I can remember. Glad you liked the Shaggy Dog story. I have one I'd like to do for Remembrance Day - if I can find it and remember how to do it.

Nice Spaniels, Mum2 !

John g: aren't they just. Makes me think about having one but it just 'aint practical.

Mum2, if you want a minimal care dog, a rescue greyhound is the ideal dog. One walk a day, and they are so affectionate. Great with kids too.

Johng: I know I'm awful but I just don't fancy them - not at all cuddle somme and a friend had two and they were so brainless. I have my hands full so I just have to be content with admiring other people's dogs. What about you?

Is it just coincidence? Often when blogging I find other blogs with posts about things that I have been thinking about, or similar things that have happened to me, or on the same subject as I have posted.
I also met a dog today, an Irish setter, and very nearly ended up taking it home. I got as far as putting it in the car, it had no collar or ear tag and I hadn't been given a lot of options. The children sobbed when the rightful owner suddenly turned up. I was a little sad, but mostly relieved, right now I do not have the time a dog needs. Like you Pat,I shall try and be content with other peoples.

Nea: I often think its something in the air-waves. Would the children accept a goldfish as a pet? That was my compromise - and a budgie - after the disaster of the awful dog Sharon.

I love spaniels, and if I were going to have another dog - that woul dbe the breed, either that or Border collies.

The local dog rescue centre, which is overcrowded with dogs at the mo, wouldn't let me have one because:
a) They say I'm too old and the dog would outlive me.
b) I need to put a 6ft high fence around the garden. (all our gardens are "open plan" by order of the Council!)
c)My income is too low. (I'm just a bloody old age pensioner!)
d)My house is too small for a dog. (It's a semi-detached, 1930's style and was designed to house a family of 4 !)
I would love a dog, but not a pup. They are too expensive to buy (Irish Setter = £450) I would like a dog like the ones in your photo, and old enough to be a sensible pet.
Ah well, ca la vie!

Judy:these were so lovely and clean. their owner said the often run in sea water.

Keith: I'd no idea there were so many restrictions. Actually I only have to think of collecting poo to dampen my enthusiasm. However I firmly believe that the stroking of a loved animal helps to lower tension and BP. MTL had to make do with me. WOOF WOOF!

What lovely spaniels.

Thanks for your comment on the CA fires.

I'm confused about "Santa dam". What did I post that I've forgotten?
