I enjoy the cottage garden feel here, a neatness that blends well with my sense of the disorder of a natural wilderness. All this is to say, I agree with you, Pat.
I don't have a garden where I am at the moment - just fields with cows - and I'm beginning to miss watching my flowers grow. If I'm still here next year then I will pot up some containers to give my little patio some colour. Sx
Maybe I'm just unlucky, I have ordered plants several times over the Internet and been disappointed by the quality, or lack of it, when they arrive. I think I'll stick to visiting the local nurseries in future, then I can see what I'm buying.
Keith: I felt the same - quite strongly - until my gardener mentioned Sarah Raven and I found her photographs really inspiring. But that is just my experience and its not my job to give her free advertising:)
Grand mother but still a girl at heart. Married to MTL(my true love)after a separation of 30 years. Had three careers: trained paediatric nurse, National photographic model and business woman. Now settled in SW and enjoying our five children and ten grandchildren and making the most of what time we have left.
In January 2013 I lost MTL.

Elisabeth: thank you. there is plenty of disorder and wildness.

Scarlet: pots are a boon:) I'd like to look out on cows too. i don't think there are any on the hill. Horses, badgers and foxes - yes.
