Bric-a-brac at the Cottage

I loved this lamp at the cottage.  It was crewel work.  Goodness knows how they got it to fit so neatly.

This was the nearest we got to the Cobb

Love these figures

Who can tell me what this is?  MTL guessed a water carrier.

Pat, is it a blunt instrument that is normally to be found at crime scenes, but is so nondescript that it remains nameless next to the body of Colonel Mustard in the library and is often mistaken for a lead pipe or a candlestick?

No don't know what it is, but I do like that lamp

Don't know, but I would think Y.T.L's guess is probably the correct one.

The figures are really unusual. I have no idea about the "water carrier" but it looks interesting!

... yes, my immediate thought was that it was some sort of bottel... or... a musical instrument... like a horn....

Chef: someone has a touch of the Agathas.

LOM: there were two of them!!

Mike and Ann: yes, especially as there was a carrying strap.

Joey: the figures were so elegant.

Scarlet: those little shells look like part of a musical instrument but maybe they are just decoration.

Think that top lamp might be an Ikea one! I love that pattern and it looks even more expensive in that setting

ALW: now where is our nearest Ikea?
I have some old cushions with crewel embroidery done by my late MIL. I think that is why the lamps attracted me so much.

Haven't a clue about that last picture! That lamp shade is most unusual---I've never seen anything like it---crewel work on a lampshade---Most Unique, don't you think?

I think it is meant to hold something (water or other).
Love the photos in the other post too - so charming!!

Naomi : unique yes - that's why I like it.

Judy: I think water carrier is the best bet.

That lamp, is almost the SAME as a cushion cover my late wife purchased at Ikea!! I will get a photo of it when I get home later today, and I will post it via a link!!

Bernie: I must look out for Ikea.
