Krewel Weather

I found these in the attic.  When we sold our cottage in Yorkshire I couldn't bear to get rid of them as Mary my MIL did them. They are the reason I waxed lyrical about the lamp shade in Hawkchurch.  The Lamp, of course is much more delicate.

It has been like this all week.  My new laawn mower is meant to be tried out in the first week. In this weather?

We've had glorious weather, except for yesterday evening when it hosed it down! The sky is cloudless as I type, but cold, only 10c! x

What a lovely thing to have and keep, forever...!
It is actually COLD here...but, the HOT will be back in a day or two. Heat on one day, Air Conditioning, the next...!
It looks quite gloomy where you are, my dear.

Pat, more bad weather to come over the weekend hen, stay indoors with a wee bottle of mothers ruin for company instead.

That crewel work is absolutely stunning, so three dimensional and rich, how wonderful to have that.

Naomi: very gloomy indeed. My family were in LA two weeks ago and ar wending homeward now.

Chef: you should know by now I never touch gin.

Map: any poor divil who can find their way through our sheds with - at least 3 lawn mowers is welcome to take one. But I am not responsible for any damage they may incur to themselves in so doing.

ALW: so glad you like them. I should give them a make over.

They shade is so lovely and what a treasure to have the pillows from your MIL. They are not as delicate as the lampshade but beautiful.
I know you are tired of your foggy, damp weather but your garden is so beautiful in these photos.

cheers, parsnip

Parsnip: the people at the top of the hill have been in cloud all week.

Suddenly I am reminded of krewel (crewel) embroidery work that I did years and years ago and want to try again. I see where kits can be ordered online and just might order one.

I'm meant to be cutting the grass and today is fine, but I'm kinda hoping for rain so I can get out of it! I feel so lazy at the moment. :D
