I see the child Alice is with in the last of these photos has Down's Syndrome. I imagine the whole experience must have been a real mix of rewarding and heartbreaking.
Kim: she obviously wants to repeat the experience. I think she has discovered - as her Grandma did before her - what and inspiration these children can be. I still conjure up some of their little faces when I'm feeling chicken about something. I can honestly say I have never tried to influence her - I wouldn't dare - so it is a lovely surprise to me.
