Here is my problem:I want to change 183 pages from single spacing to double spacing.I know how to do it a page at a time, but it’s a lovely day and I’d like to get out in the sunshine. Is there a way I can change the whole document at one fell swoop? It would be lovely if I could.Over to my egg- head, techie friend
Z: thank you for your help. I have just had an e-mail from # 1 son who knows exactly how dumb I am - with a step be step action which I shall try after a jaunt in the sun. I'm sure yours works but my reaction was 'select All from where - I see no All' I know it's sad isn't it?
Goth: that's sweet of you and that is a useful URL to have. Thank you and I'll take your advice re the sun:)
"Select All" is done by holding down the ctrl key and pressing "A"
However, if suddenly everything disappears because you pressed something else, don't forget ctrl and "Z" is undo, and will take you back to where you were.
Z: as I had already done Kim's thing I tried yours on another document and it worked also by using edit so that's fine - again thank you. BTW I don't seem to have a 'command'on my keyboard
Same thing, just that Mac's control key does something else. Similarly, Option and Alt mean the same thing here - no idea what the PC equivalent is, but I'm sure it's most inoffensive.
I wonder if it's as hot with you as it is here? Just come in for refuge from the sun for a few minutes!
Z: baking! we've been out to lunch and I just don't know what to do with myself - as dear old Dusty sang. Too hot for the garden although there is plenty of shade and no real enthusiasm for editing so I'm going to award myself some skulking time doing absolutely nothing - maybe a ZZZZZ.
Grand mother but still a girl at heart. Married to MTL(my true love)after a separation of 30 years. Had three careers: trained paediatric nurse, National photographic model and business woman. Now settled in SW and enjoying our five children and ten grandchildren and making the most of what time we have left.
In January 2013 I lost MTL.

Doesn't it work if you select 'All' and then tell it to double-space?

Go to Edit in the top bar, it should be under there there. Or press Command and A together as a shortcut.
Kim: wow that worked a treat! Many thatnks.

All: I am most grateful and with my new printer have printed out all your helpful suggestions.

Well, I'm late to this party.
And I had good advice, too. But seeing as how you no longer need it, I'll be on my way.
Cheers.
