Monday - Monday

Aside

Yes I know it's Sunday but tomorrow I have an unscheduled dentist's appointment. It seems only yesterday that our Norfolk grand-daughter was an adventurous little spirit and had us both in the river at Tarr Steps with Granny Pat grimly clinging on to her. Now she is a law graduate. Her sister - the eldest grandchild is married and expecting our first (blood) great grand child in December. We already have a beautiful step-great grand-daughter and expect another - also in December.

Girl Talk
For some time I have been fairly incapacitated by a sore shoulder; I've even had to get MTL to do up my bra. When it spread to my upper back I gave it a lot of thought and think I have solved the problem. Recently whilst buying a bra I was measured and found that instead of 36C I was 34 D. Being emerald green when it comes to discarding anything remotely useful I just tightened the straps of my older bras. I now realise this was akin to putting my shoulder in a vice, and the relief now I've lowered the straps (and inevitably my bosom) is palpable. What an idiot!

how time flies!

i too have been known to purchase a sale/pretty bra item using the if i'm a 32C then i can wear a 30D or 34B method of (faulty)reasoning when the right size has not been found ... oh dear i so hate waste

Ooh, maybe that was my problem! I recently bought some new bras, and discovered that I am bigger around than I thought. The new ones are ever so much more comfortable. From now on, I'll get measured so I know for sure what size to get.....LOL

OOOOOPS, Michele sent me this time.

Congrats to the granddaughter! Barrister or Solicitor? (I'd choose Barrister, just to get one of those wigs.)

BTW, I should've stopped reading when I saw "Girl Talk," but no. I had to finish the entire post. I shall take your word regarding anything that involves the words "bosoms" and "palpable."

[Insert The Last Sentence of Your Post Here re: Me]

Cheers, dear.

Being measured for a bra always gives a surprising result. I'm 34D too, though I used not to know it.

Grandchildren do grow up fast. I suppose it'll happen with mine too and in a few years I'll wonder where the time's gone.

Mei: guess what. I still haven't worn the new one. But I will - I will!

Judy: we do seem to make the same mistakes:)

Randall: MTL thinks, almost certainly, solicitor.
Ah Randall you shall be our honorary girl:)

Z; the owner of the shop - which is a welcome new addition to our local facilities - gave a talk to the TWG. She also stocks delectable undies. They were offered a discount and the local ladies are looking decidedly perkier.

That's why I usually don't wear bras, it's just uncomfortable (easy to say with barely an a cup, I know).

Marjolein: it must give you an enormous feeling of freedom.

Congratulations on your grand-daughter's accomplishment and on your discovery... I guess both can be viewed as a relief!

Michele sent me and I might add - I am long overdue.

thank heaven the cause of your pain has been discovered! I suspect I never wear the right size but as I am always 'going to lose weight' there never seems to be much point in shelling out on the best Rigby and Peller stuff (as if!)

great grand daughter - gulp - that is serious generation upon generation

Belleek: next time - just for interest - get measured. I'm the same about potential weight loss.

Naomi: Yes it was good news but I may have to lose a tooth. Drat!

Congrats on the impending and existing Great-Grandmotherhood.

So I take it the bra wasn't burnt in the 60s then ;)

Pat said...

Crabtree: lovely to have you around again:)

Kim: no - I never fell for any of that rubbish.

I think bra shopping for the right size is a science lol...I have recently lost alot of weight...and still trying to find the right bra for me. I have always been very well indowed..so having less up there has been a relief...although back pain when u have a few D's to deal with is a given...I danced with glee to have lost one whole D LOL

crabtee: a book at bedtime:)

Pat said...

Moon : it is surprising how much they can weigh and so easily cause posture and health problems. We should pay more attention.
