Where are you?

Aside

Just lately - with many blog friends gone to earth - I have been casting my bread upon the waters(you get a lot of soggy crusts that way) And I have a plea. The first thing I want to know is where are you? Tavistock or Timbuctoo? So very many have no 'location' - not even on the profile. Why is that? And am I the only one who cares?
And then there's sex. Or should I better say gender. It really isn't clear always and I have found I have been mildly flirtatious with a laydee.

Just a thought!

It really isn't clear always and I have found I have been mildly flirtatious with a laydee.

It's only a matter of time before everyone is seduced by the internet's naughty side, isn't it?

As for my location, I'm semi-recumbent at the moment, behind my desk, thank you.

Cheers.

Oh no! Which laydee? I got chased off one laydee's blog by a jealous man who I can only assume thought I was a male, and hence felt threatened by my leaving complimentary comments to her.

I am of course a female. And I live in England. Not far outside London, as it happens, but I don't quite like to say more, for i-d reasons.

Looking forward to the rest of the responses.

Rarndall: You are one of the goodies (with regard to location at least:))with the picture of Missouri.

I find the semi-anonymous aspect of some bloggers rather interesting. Normally in life one finds out the basics, sex, location etc immediately and it takes much longer to discover what is going on in the mind. With blogging it's often the opposite, minds are revealed but not the physicality.

I often wish I hadn't given so much information so soon. My name is gender neutral so I wonder if I could have been mistaken for a chap.

Pat said...

Judy: I don't want to upset Mr Kenju:)

Dandelion: no surprises there then.

Eryl: I get sick of - every day - being mistaken for a chap and being offered penis enlargements. What with those and false boobs is anybody what they seem?

That is one of the crazy things about blogging! I know you already know but I'm a female now back in North central Texas USA :o)

Pat said...

John:gulp! Sorry son:(

Kath: I'm watching the programme you mentioned tonight. Are you missing Britain at all?

Dear, actually my profile photo is a bit of misdirection. If you were to seek out the landscape, you would find it in North Dakota. I only use it because it better conveys the "Hinterland." Missouri, at least where I live has more "mountains."

Here's a photo.

Cheers.

Dearest pi, is that laydee as in 'lady-boy' or just a straight lady, as it were? :)

As for me, I might not be much of a lady, but I am a girl and based in a northerly part of Blighty. :x

I think I'm given away by the wedding pictures. That and all you wouuld need to do is google my name and it pops up all over the place.

Female in the Mouth of Ply. As if you had to ask ;)

Pat said...

F:lux: I didn't really hang around to find out. Just a meet and greet sort of thing.

Randall: You've misled me!(pronounced like the disease) That rock looks deliciously scrambable.

Pat said...

Sim: I remember being a little confused by girl=pants at first. All clear now:)

My Indian friend kept her gender secret for months. Then she made us guess. I, with many others, guessed wrong! I did guess the city she lived in though.

Pat said...

z: good! I'm not the only one.

LOL, I agree it's often unclear who the blogger is. It's quite evident on mine as you know...Flakey Female in Montreal...French speaking Cooky Canuck ...Canadian Bacon Bitch.....u get the picture lol

I'm a babe, me. Flirt away. Location: England, ruralish, otherwise unspecified because of anonymity issue, sorry.

Pat said...

Moon: here's hoping it encourages les autres to be as transparent:)

Pat said...

Zinnia: Har Har!(twirls moustache)Your secret is safe with me. My lips are sealed!

Hi Pat. Michele sent me to tell you I am definitely female (but it says that on my profile) and I am from the South West in the UK. I don't wnat to get more specific as I want to maintain my anonymity.

The Blogosphere can be confusing sometimes can't it? :)

Pat said...

Bob-Kat: just think - we could live next door to one another. I'll hang a purple sock on the garage window:)

I am a doctor of indeterminate gender. I would be delighted to flirt no matter what.
Life's too short I feel.
We go to earth as you put it because our IT department keep snooping, and I am STILL not reconnected at home.

LOL, LOL...Well, you know where I am and you know my gender! But, I agree with you. Sometimes I'd love to know where certain bloggers live....And I just mean the State and/or city....! It helps to imagine that person somewhere....!
So far I haven't had any problem with someone's gender, except a very long time ago...And it was more because of his blogname.....Now, it just seems crazy that I thought he was possibly a woman...LOL!

Pat said...

Doccie: You'll always be 'a man before the mast' to me. Just as long as you are still around:)

Naomi: even the country would help. I think it doesn't occur to some people how vague they are being and quite a lot of names are bi-gender. Like Pat for instance:)

Bobkat said...

Hi Pat. I see no purple sock!

I think from what I have pieced together from visiting your blog you live a bit further south than me! :)

Mike Davis said...

Hi Pat,

Michele sent me but I always enjoy the trip!

Who would have thought I could get back to Devon from TEXAS so easily?

Mike

Pat said...

Hi Mike: just popped over to India!

Actually I am missing it a bit, which makes me happy - happy to know that in that short amount of time I felt connected. The landscape, the food, and the people were all so wonderful!

Pat said...

Kath: you had such a traumatic time I was afraid it would put you off so I'm glad it didn't. I watched the programme last night and think it would be excellent if all recruits saw it and understand what was expected. I wonder what Royal will think of it?

Pat said...

Bob-Kat: well out of sight of my sock anyway:)

I live in the "other" London, the one in Ontario, Canada.

Coincidentally, there's a Tavistock not far from here. Lovely little burg.

Like you, I love to know where everyone's from. I use the stats service on my blog to keep track of where my lovely visitors come from.

Today, I'm here from Michele's - she's just up the road from me, in Toronto.

Pat said...

Hi Carmi: that's interesting. I had assumed Michele was American. I have a blogging friend from Ontario - Jack Bush - an excellent photographer. Of course I know you are a man:)

rashbre said...

I think I give a few hints about where I live, even when in transit. Today I'm in Hampshire this morning, then Surrey, then London.

Pat said...

Rashbre you are a gadabout but I always imagine you hovering over Stone Henge:)

Kim Ayres said...

Well I'm not hard to find. However, the name Kim still confuses some people.

Pat said...

Kim: you've forgotten but I thought you were a girl initially.

Sara said...

Hello, Michele sent me to let you know that I live in the beautiful state of New Hampshire - I am right on the border with Vermont - so, it is easy to be in either at any given moment. And, I am female!

Pat said...

Hi Sara: I know Vermont and New Hampshire and they are - I agree -beautiful. My BIL still has a house in Vermont

Kim Ayres said...

Its the long eyelashes. They confuse everyone.

Pat said...

Kim: the beard of course is somewhat of a giveaway.
