Back to 1956
Aside
This is the photo I couldn't find when I did a post on my first pregnancy. That's me - the size of a small elephant - second from the right. On my right is my mother and on my left is Gran. It was the last time I saw her as she died after my son was born.

Pat, you may have felt huge, but you surely didn't look it!
Michele sent me to say that you dont look like a small elephant :) The picture is fine! It finally let me leave a comment, hope you didnt think I forgot about ya.
As you were half hiding it wasn't even obvious you were pregnant in that picture.
However, I take your word for it that you felt enormous.
It's lovely that you have this photo of your Gran at that time.
Judy: an extra four and a half stones tends to make you feel that way. I had always been Gran's little girl and even she said I was a 'fine big woman.'
tiffany: not at all . I've been sitting out - in the wind - until I finally acknowledged I was cold. Half the comments are behaving strangely and going to Dashboard with lots of html. Heaven knows why.
Oh, do stop. You look "mahvelous, darling."
Cheers.
Sablonneuse: did you notice Gran's magnificent bosom? Many's the time I have been dandled from there.
Randall: well if you say so:) Did you get my e-mail?
What a wonderful picture! You don't look that big to me. But I'm slightly worried about the woman, second from left, who seems to have a large cross growing out the top of her head! ;)
My Gran looks a lot frailer than yours did, but mine will be 99 on November 5th, which reminds me I must call her.
Pat, I received the mail and responded.
Cheers.
kimbofo: I see what you mean. How odd! What were we doing in a grave yard?
Nea: that's the day after MTL's big birthday. Give her my love. My Gran
made up her mind that she was going at 70 - people did then - and sadly she did.
You are not showing at all in that picture.
Michele sent me here to tell you that.
Randall: many thanks - I do appreciate the trouble you took. I missed the latter part of your e-mail until just now and replied but it has been returned. Just really to hope it is one of those things that happen for no apparent reason and then dis appears. Fingers crossed.
Gautami: I think the black coat helped:)
What a classy photo Pat. You are simply beautiful. Who is the man to the left of Gran?
Sarch: that's easy as there is only one man. He is literally Ralph the butcher boy. The other people were his wife and child and mother and I think - maybe we were visiting his father - the butcher - his father's grave. Ralph use to have a crush on me when we were younger and I remember when he first saw MTL he said 'Isn't he thin Pat?' Actually he was perfect but I would say that wouldn't I?
Dandled from a magnificent bosom? Are you sure?
andrewm: yes - I was there?
Dandle (child) on one's knees.OED
HOSS: THERE'S SOMETHING WRONG WITH MY COMMENT BOX THIS MORNING AND I CAN'T MODERATE. YOU SAID:_
You are hardly a house. And you were just as pretty then as you are now. How do you do that?
I SAID:- guess it's just clean living.

What a wonderful precious picture. I'm so glad yoi found it. And, you don't look like an Elephant at all, Pat. At least, not to me. But maybe because you were soooo very thin modeling, it feels like you were huge...And I guess, in comparison....What year was this, again? Don't you just LOVE Archival pictures?
Naomi: I know it was 1956 because my son was born in November.
good job it wasn't a year and a month later or you'd have got lumbered wi me!
4d: funny you're bang in the middle of my two. Three of you would be probably more than I could handle.
Three of me is more than the entire planet could handle!!!
4d: you said it sunshine:)
