Two new toys!
Aside

Just lately I have been hampered by the fact that the letters on my keyboard have disappeared and also my work station is a bit cramped so when we were in Taunton the other day I bought a new slim-line monitor and the next day bought a new key-board locally.
So exciting but I was nervous about commissioning them so delayed till yesterday. I was so pleased when they appeared to work - all except the sound. Then late last night - after much beavering I got it. It is so beautiful I had to show you, although I should have tidied first - I'm going to do that after breakfast. The top pic is the view from this room in the morning when the early sun glints on the water and I can see the sea. Another blow for the old trouts!

That looks wonderful Pat....I have a new moniter that my brother gave me back in late June...My Computer Wizard is supposed to come on Tuesday of next week and do a few things for me...That is one of them...!

Thanks for your sweet commewnt Pat. I will email you about what has been going on....Those birds did lift my spirits, considerably!

Nice view from the window. I'd move everything over there so you can stare at the sea between cogitations.

Cheers.

Nice tidy setup, Pat. Don't you just love the new slim monitors?

z:It is so much easier on the eyes

Thanks Granny!

f:lux: with the greatest difficulty!

Naomi: I have a permanent list of things to do for my computer wizard.

Randall: then I'd never get anything done.

Jack: yes I've spent most of today playing with it.

Can't beat the flat screen monitors!

Johng: I feel so - what's the word?

Certainly looks nice. The cats love poking at ours and it kind of 'gives'. I'm hoping it's not scratchable.

Off topic comment.

When I saw this video, I recalled one of your earlier posts about "Girls' Day Out."

Enjoy and don't hit me.

Cheers.

sablonneuse: I think the cats love the warmth. This is probably scratchable as the screen was covered in cellophane. fortunately we have no cats in the house - just the ginger tom from next door in the garden!

I can't see any untidy bits and that's a lovely view.

Pat said...

Randall - you rascal! You've made me cry. With laughter!

Pat said...

It's kind of you to say so Nea and I must remember to spell barmy not balmy.

If it were any tidier, it wouldn't be natural. Never tidy up for true friends. They don't notice.

Nice monitor! I'm envious of your view.

It is a loverly view out the window.

Nothing like new computer equipment!!I use a laptop but the letters on the keys are fading in places!! so I totally understand that frustration also...I can't believe u fit a big monitor on that small desk lol.

Lovely view Pat, and I too am surprised that you have the computer facing the wall and not the window!

Pat said...

tlp: them's comforting words:)

Thanks Joe!

Moon: I'm starting to get a complex about my small station:)

The Blonde one of the writing courses I did warned against a desk by the window as one tends to spend too much time looking out. When my office was in the attic I found that was true. I moved down a floor when I got a computer because running up and down two flights about twenty time a day is a bit much now. So I am a little cramped in a spare bed-room/dressing room.

You've got a desk! Am green with envy. My desk is called my lap. :(

Hi Pat - I remember when we first got our flay screen, it was fabulous and made for so much more room....

I would be lost without my laptop now, I hardly ever use the study these days.

Michele sent me to congratulate you on your new set-up - enjoy, and I'm with r sherman; I'd move the desk near the window, and drift off into a permanent daydream..

Ah the sea at Devon, how I miss it! Learned to swim, then to surf, then to be afraid of killer whales off Lundy Island.

All I get frommy current sea view are oild rigs and tankers.

Enjoy your new toy and hello from Michele's!

sim: I wish I understood about lap-tops.
Where does everything go?

Pat said...

cq: one thing that stops me getting a lap-top is that I would never get the break from blogging one gets on one's brief breaks. That and the expense:)

Hi Dave! We are very near the border but this is actually Somerset. I wonder where you are now? Scotland?

Always nice to have new "stuff."

(Hi...Michele sent me, BTW)

That is a flash screen right enough.
I thought the flowers on your screen wallpaper was actually a satelite image of an island or town or something. I've been using special software to enhance the notes on your notice board. I'm like that; harmless but nosey.

What I don't understand is how the letters disappeared off your old keyboard. Sounds iffy. Sounds like an excuse to spend, but we're only here the once, so go for it, I say.

Pat said...

Hi Bev! 'Aint it the truth?

Doccie: now you know all my secrets! The flowers are blossoms that grow on a bush/tree round the side of the house. The lettters disappearing were from five years wear and tear and caused me to make even more mistakes. I probably would have soldiered on - because I'm like that, but our son, over from France, grumbled about that and the screen ergo...

Great image on your desktop, Pat.

Pat said...

rashbre: there's just a slight distortion which I must try to sort out.

Jean -Luc: thanks to you I have now changed it to a gorgeous view of Exmoor which I took on our girl's day out.
