WHAT’S THE PROBLEM?

Aside

The problem that myself and many others are experiencing is being unable to access certain comment boxes. Sometimes the comment button is absent and sometimes one makes the comment and a ‘page expired’ notice appears.

In my case, out of my favourites, Old Horsetail Snake, Jonny B, Granny P, Doctor Maroon, Greavsie and Zoe are all unobtainable at present. That is I can read them but cannot comment.

Spanish Goth thought it could be connected to my browser and cookies but three of us tweaked last night to no effect. Keith’s theory is

“Its Blogger/Google and Yahoo/GeoCities seem to have some sort of feud going at the moment and it's nigh on impossible for each side to comment on the others site’

And Peter Chen says

“There have been a spate of messages in the Google Blogger Help group of similar complaints. I myself have experienced it. The comment in one of my old post was set to not display the comments by itself. I did not do it. I have to manually reset the comment to display for that post.”

”This is likely one of the many teething pains of New Blogger. Suggest we all report this to Blogger support.

Let me know what you think. I have a date with the Coleridge Way.

I had the same problem yesterday. At least three blogs' comment sections were unavailable.

I have trouble from time to time too even with Blogger.

Some of those blogs you mentioned have Haloscan commenting - so it can't just be a Blogger fault. Maybe your server? Cookies? I'd check your security settings/firewall..it may be blocking popups for some reason.

Wedyz: my son and granddaughter did a lot of sleuthin' last night - to no avail and will have another go tomorrow but time together is so precious it just flies and I'm inclined to go with Keith's theory and hope it will sort itself out.

Pat - how about uploading a differing browser - Moxilla Firefox, eg, and see if that will let you do it. Or am I just repeating something you already tried?

Pat said...

grannyp: no I haven't tried it but i'll see if Andrew and Alice will help me. I've only just learnt what a browser is.

Pat don't worry, there's nothing going on at mine worth talkin' about.

Don't worry. Enjoy, when you do. This episode is VERY dramatic, just to wet your appetite. And by the way, downloading firefox is easy. Just get their site, via, google, click on download and there you go. It's free too!

even i managed to download firefox, it's that easy!

nothing much going on chez moi due to numerous problems going on at work that require lawyers. but i bet you €50 that the secretary-general does absolutely nothing about it which means - oh, don't ask.

i have a headache just thinking about it.

Zoe: against my son's advice have just downloaded Firefox and so far it hasn't helped the problem and seems very slow - maybe it needs to settle down. Be glad when I can get in your comment box again . Try not to worry about the work problems and have a happy Easter.
