HELP HOUSTON!
Aside

We have a problem. Over the week-end I have experienced difficulty in leaving comments on some other blog sites. I have run a check and apparently my HTTP is OK and my HTTPS is OK but my FTP is not connecting. This is all Geek to me. I will try to get it sorted but have a medical MOT today and visitors arrive tomorrow so please bear with me and excuse any absence at your place.

Probably just as well in my case. You did ask about being April fooled (or not as the case might be.)

I don't see what FTP has to do with anything - you're not uploading or downloading files.

You may find the following site helpful - Whatis.com - technology terms described in English

granny p: read your post - you devil! And left a comment but it didn't work. At least I can visit and read.

SG: thank you for that. I'll give it a go and my grand-daughter arrives tomorrow. She understands HTML and all that jazz!

Best of luck in getting it fixed. Come back soon.

DQ: thank you dear.

Maybe all the rude words you use have been censored?

Heh heh. Hope the MOT goes well xx

I've heard about and from some others who are having problems too, Pat. Hope yours gets fixed soon.

Z: rude words? Moi?
MOT reassuring. I don't need 'the operation'!
I am going mad with frustration not being able to put in my two cents worth. A sadistic from of cruelty to Pat.

Judy: it would be a comfort to know it wasn't just my problem.

Well KOB my KRK, I am so sorry for you. Maybe your MZH needs some KIWN. One of those should work.

I'm having the same problem. I did a post about it, remember? The only way I can comment on your page is using anon.

Keith: I have just tried you again and on your site I'm not given the option of anon - just my name, URl and e-mail address and comment box;whech then doesn't get through. I am new blogger so can't understand it.

Well your comment worked on my site ok and I posted a note on Zoe's as requested.

Think I know what the answer is though - could be due to the Cookie setting on your browser (quickest way to check is to press F1 within your browser and search for Cookie - it will show you how to check/change the setting).

Can't hurt, that's for sure

Oh noble Spanish Goth thy kindness renders me speechless although hopefully it will have the opposite effect. Thanks tons and will have a go.

Aha! it worked. I tried to comment of the Cardinal post yesterday but it wouldn't take. I got a down for service message. But now all is well again.

Huzzah!

I use a hammer. Doesn't work but you feel better

Sam: son# had his first kir tonight and enjoyed it.

4d: after an hour's tweaking tonight a hammer is looking increasingly attractive!

Apparently it's nothing to do with cookies, its Blogger/Google and Yahoo/GeoCities seem to have some sort of feud going at the moment and it's nigh on impossible for each side to comment on the others site.

Keith: at least you seem to have found a way round it. It sounds like playground stuff and they should grow up. The whole thing must be counter productive I would have thought.
