And might I suggest that Nat King Cole's version is also worth a moment of your time. I first heard it on the soundtrack to a Channel 4 screening of 'Northern Exposure' (guessing early-mid 90s). Twas very good then, tis very good now.
Hmm, I needed some relaxing down time, that was lovely. It does of course help if you remember to turn the mute button off the volume before attempting to listen. Clearly I'm tired, it took me a wee while to figure out what was going on.
old perhaps. Up? Never!!!...;-)
Lovely toon
Shane: I was hard pushed to choose between the two but felt this was closest to the basic feel.
St Jude : better mute than full volume late at night when everybody is abed. A mistake I have made occasionally. It must have puzzled you her not moving:)
Four.D: thought you'd like it:)
I love that song, though Joni James rendition would not be my favorite...! Not that it is bad...It's just not Heartfelt enough for me....As you know, I am a slobbery old romantic...lol!
Didn't Vera Lynn have a version of this song? Or did I just wish she had? (lol)
Naomi: you know far more about singers than I do. I had never heard of Joni James before. I think I noticed Vera Lynn had sung it but thought I'd have a change. Incidentally I always remembered the last line as 'your love will live in my heart' not 'your kiss will live in my heart.
Gorgeous voice
Kath: I'm glad you like it. It must be quite old as I always associate it with my Gran.
