The Church where I had 'a moment'.

This is the harbour at Gozo an island off Malta. The little church is on the skyline and just below it you can see a white shape that is the Madonna. The road winds round behind the church or you can climb up a path from the road. Se post below for more details.

My instructor towards my Part II ADI qualification is Malteses. Smashing bloke called Mark Brown...not very Maltese sounding is it?

He sometimes uses a miniature cattle prod if you cock anything up. I must be doing ok as he hasn't used it on me....yet

Gozo is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been. :)

Naomi: I wish I could have painted it. No I bought the print and framed it when i got home and it resides in the upstairs loo.

FourD: he sounds suitably nutty for you. I expect you both get on like a house on fire.

Marjolein: it is lovely and I am now racking my brains to remember the villa we had.

Once again, someone posts about a place that's on my "must visit" list, to wit: Malta (as well as other isles in the Med.)

Sigh

Maybe one of these days.

Cheers.

Randall: you'll have lots of time and more money when the children leave home and eventually become independent. Then it will be your and the EMBLOS's time to make whoopee:)

Parsnip and Kevin: next door to the church was a sale by nuns for their orphanage so I was able to spread a little of the good feeling the experience had given me.

Maggie: thank you. Glad I'm not the only one:)

What a lovely painting. As Naomi asked, did you paint it?

What sort of a moment?? We were thinking of going to Malta for a holiday, as sometimes there are charter flights to there from here - do you recommend it?

Gadjo: the moment - I have copied and pasted this to save you reading my last post. Lazy boy!
'8 I’ve always believed in a ‘Higher Being’ and some years ago in a tiny church in Gozo, Malta I literally ‘saw the light.’ The cleaners were about to close the church as they left for lunch but allowed me to enter. The only way I can describe it was that I was suffused with a warm golden glow which filled me with happiness. MTL could see something had happened and urged me to sit and stay for a while. I did sit momentarily but felt I couldn’t keep the cleaners waiting so we left. It wasn’t the beauty of the church – it was tiny and ridiculously over ornate. The experience consolidated my belief.'
Re Malta: we rented a villa in the little island off Malta - Gozo and really enjoyed it. Later we had a few days out of season in a swish hotel in Malta but we enjoyed The simplicity of Gozo.

I'm sure that you have had many moments, of which you so far decline to repeat out of modesty and such grace.

Jimmy: that's such a sweet thing to say. Thank you;)

Your special moment place is breathtaking.

I'm adding that to the list of places I want to live.

Pat, that is good news. I was under the impression that the EMBLOS had given up "Whoopee" for Lent, or something.

Cheers.

GG: then you'd be closer to England and could pop over:)

Randall: there is always something to look forward to.

Thank you - Gozo it is then!

Gadjo: I look forward to hearing about it.
