Something is definitely up with our weather. The eskimos are having to make up a word for the cottontail rabbit because apparantly the melting ice and warmer temperatures have caused rabbits to move ever Northward to places they've never been seen before.
I'm sorry I missed your anniversary Pat. Happy 27th, you two! And many more. Instow looks lovely what with the poirates in dem dere waters, the colourful tea-shop ladies, and all the literary connections and stuff. After you've been on a trip I read about it and always wind up wanting to go myself one day.
Polly: I don't 'still' have primroses. These are next years - early. You are allowed to gasp with amazement!
Sam: I could cope with a warm winter but here you are liable to freeze the next minute - just when you've removed your combs! Thank you for your wishes and kind words Sam.
Grand mother but still a girl at heart. Married to MTL(my true love)after a separation of 30 years. Had three careers: trained paediatric nurse, National photographic model and business woman. Now settled in SW and enjoying our five children and ten grandchildren and making the most of what time we have left.
In January 2013 I lost MTL.

I don't know if it is a record, but I am a bit further north than you and I still have Primroses, Penstemons and fuschias in full flower.

They are so fresh and pretty! I don't have much of a green thumb, but I sure wish I did! I'm better with cactus...
:o)
I have a theory that late flowers and birds stay for beautiful people. Have you read Oscar Wilde's the Happy Prince?
kath: the beauty of these little darlings - they are wild and come up unbidden when they feel like it.
fjl: that's nice. I'll look it up.
