GG: I think there wa only one successful escapee and he used to drink in one of the pubs we were in but I'm not sure which one. It used to be the harshest and cruellest of prisons with the most dangerous men in the UK housed there. I did know a lot of the history but it has faded with the passage of time.
Jack: thanks for the giggle. I don't know what came over me but I will try harder.PONIES PONIES PONIES
Grand mother but still a girl at heart. Married to MTL(my true love)after a separation of 30 years. Had three careers: trained paediatric nurse, National photographic model and business woman. Now settled in SW and enjoying our five children and ten grandchildren and making the most of what time we have left.
In January 2013 I lost MTL.

The Romans were there, indeed :-D
And look at the prison. I wonder what happened if prisoners escaped!
