Warminster

Syd - after S Barrett.

Both cats endlessly groom themselves

Zoot - under his brother's thumb

He knows his place

Syd plotting his next move.  He disappeared as we were leaving the house causing great consternation.
Then he snook back in when we were in the car but his master spotted him.

The rowan trees were glowing

Even golden rod blended with autumnal hues

The Weymouth Hotel  served excellent food. I like the impressionist feel to this.

I had Bayley's creme brulee.  The splodges were the perfect accompaniment.

Oh boy that Bayley's creme brulee looks amazing! Waht are splodges?

Syd, as in Syd Barrett from Pink Floyd? Or is it a more literary reference that I'm unaware of? Off to Google splodges.

Joey: I thought it was just my slang for a dollop but the dictionary states it is a variation of splotch which is daub, blot, smear, large irregular spot or patch.
They weren't very pretty but perfect with the crème brulee.

Exile: as in Pink Floyd - the very one I believe.

lom: the whole meal was a delight.

Judy: they are lucky to have such delightful food in walking distance - and we did walk there and back -so we could have got legless:) But didn't.

The penultimate shot looks like a scene from Silent Witness they decided was to horrific ;-)

Rog: remind me not to dine with you.

Parsnip; I did the post holding my breath and keeping the copy sparse and voila - it worked.

You look like you were in some very magical place,Pat...Those darling cats---the Yummy restaurant---and the Beautiful Countryside...Sounds like it was a sublime time, especially that Brulee....!

Naomi: we visited my DIL's 90 year old mother in hospital and then had the pleasure of seeing her out and settled back in her own home.
Finger crossed she will be as good as new shortly.
It was all a bit whirlwind but fun and son and DIL asked if they could come for Christmas and do the cooking so I've uncancelled Christmas:)

Hmm, I'm not sure I'd name a cat after a drug-addled rock singer. But then we named ours Elvis for a while, until it was clear that he wasn't going to live up to such an unhealthy reputation.

Pat said...

Gadjo: your poor cat must have been confused.
Anyone who can play the guitar well can't be all bad I'm thinking.

Maurcheen: my mother didn't like cats and I admire them from afar.
I couldn't kiss and cuddle them.

How wonderful to see pictures and words together. Nice stuff too. I could gain weight with that. :)

Mage: ah there's the rub.

I expect Syd went off looking for effervescing elephants.
