Gone in a Flash

MTL reminded me that 26 years ago today we moved into our house. Sorry about the quality - it'sa faded photo taken from a plane.
How lucky we were to find it and what fun we've had here with all our extended family. It's on a hill but the garden is flat - a bonus. How everything has grown since then.

Oh my goodness, gracious sakes alive, how big is your house? It appears to be a beauty.

Lovely house! May you both have many many more happy and fun-filled years in it.

What's the banner on the side?

Toss in the view you've got from the back terrace, and I'd say it's about perfect.

Cheers.

Granny Annie: it is big but we use all of it - even when it's just the two of us and we have a large extended family who visit so it works very well.

CC: thank you:)

John.g: I can only think you mean the balcony which starts on the east side and goes round the front of the house to the west side.

Randall: the peace and quiet is a bonus too.

How special that you have this photo.
What a wonderful home and from your photos you have done wonders with the garden. How lucky that your garden was flat.

cheers, parsnip

Is it part of the National Trust?

Good suggestion, Macy!

It looks beautiful and pictures you've posted of the garden show that you've done even more to make it lovely. It was 25 years on 23rd July that we moved to our home, and I don't think we will ever move.

As of June 6th, we had been here for 29 years. It hardly seems possible that much time has passed. The longest I had ever lived in one place before this was 11 years.

Congrats on the anniversary!

Re, the anonymous comment above - don't be afraid to delete it by clicking on the bin symbol at the base of each comment (when you're logged in). This pest is pasting his spam everywhere.

Kim: I had reported it as spam. I deleted it on Dashboard as my bins had disappeared - back now.

Macy: hint away - MTL would have a fit.

Parsnip: we had a long list of requirements - flat garden was one. Amazingly this house had most of them.

Rog: if it were it would be in much better fettle.

Z: as my Dad used to say - feet first.

Judy: me too - we are both blessed.

That's a spectacular home. Add one mid-sized flat in Mayfair or Marleybone and you would be living my fantasy life.

UB: tsk tsk - some folk are never satisfied!

True, true romance, Pat. What a lovely home, full of memories, good spirits, great stories...

Checking in again, and realized that the photo looks to be BW, which means it could've been taken by one of my wife's relatives in, oh say, 1940.

[Insert "smiley" thing.]

Cheers.

Nursemyra: thank you:)

GG: all those years ago the surveyor suggested a new roof. We must get round to it one day but the only problem we have is the bits that have a flat roof.

Randall: nice thought but it is actually a very faded colour. It's been in the sun.
