That’s what Friends are for

Friendships multiply joys and divide griefs.

Today it’s Girl’s Day Out to celebrate Margaret’s birthday – which was actually in November, but we’ve been busy. Joy has organised it and is driving. We are hoping Joy is going to be bright eyed and bushytailed. Lately she has been a bit down – like so many of us at this time of year – but she also has an invalid husband to care for -so the three of us decided to give her a session with our local, excellent, beautician and masseuse. Fingers crossed it’s done the trick. Yesterday the sun came out and I really felt there was a light at the end of the tunnel - not just an oncoming train:)

My birthday was back in October. Do you think it's too late to celebrate that?

Eating to much is compulsory. So is drinking to much in my case ;-)

Glad to see it's getting lighter, here the snow reflects the light which helps.

4d: thank you for the good thoughts.
You are one of my lovely young men.
And don't let anyone tell you any different.

Nea: we are meant to get it but I shan't hold my breath. Maybe on Exmoor. The snowdrops will soon be here.

Oh I hope you had a GREAT Time, Pat....Sometimes a bit of real pampering can change a mood quicker than anything...And The Sun certainly helps!! (lol)

About the Scotch & Milk: Busters theor was the Milk would coat his stomach and the the scotch might not do as much harm....! It seemed to work for him.....Instead of Scotch & Water.

Naomi:thank you;it was a lovely day.I have never heard the scotch and milk before. Sometimes in Scotland lemonade is added.

Everybody deserves a day out every once in a while: some more than others. How delightful that you weer able to include Joy, who very clearly needed this day that much more. Delightful to see you doing this!

Michele sent me over the pond to say hi, Pat. I hope you had a great day!

That's a wonderful thing to do for a friend. It's so hard to be a caretaker, often you take care of them better than you do yourself. I"m glad you've pampered her. She really deserved it!
(And yes, I think I'm packed! I've never packed for a cruise and found the "shoe" issue to be most telling! Five pairs! I know just before I leave for the boat, I'll take a pair out!)

Carmi: thank you it was great- I'll write about it next week:)

Kanani: wish I could come with you:)
