Where's the photo?
banana: blogger insisted on putting the photo under the post - just scroll down. And I forgot to credit the photographer so it appeared at the top.
Something similar happened a couple of years ago in Cornwall I think. The rain which was prolonged and abnormally heavy was funnelled by steep hillsides into the village and washed a lot of it into the sea. I think more people survived that one because it was during the day.
Doc: I think it was Boscastle and, miraculously, no lives were lost.
