randall: more story and photos to come - I just have this problem: as they are old photos, when I scan them I can't seem to lose all of the white background from the scanner. Maybe I'll have to do a few together which I did last time. Not very satisfactory.
LL Cool Joe: just to prove to myself that it isn't I have an identical one with my husband on it but I'm not allowed to put his photo on the blog. The colours are so strong because it's not digital. The camera was Fuji which I bought in Singapore.
It's a beautiful picture, and the extra bit of white at the bottom doesn't bother me. I enlarged the picture and noticed a small spot at the bottom left corner. Could it be a spot of dust or something on the scanner, causing the scanner to see the spot as part of the picture you wanted to scan and therefore adding the white strip at the bottom with the spot included?
Grand mother but still a girl at heart. Married to MTL(my true love)after a separation of 30 years. Had three careers: trained paediatric nurse, National photographic model and business woman. Now settled in SW and enjoying our five children and ten grandchildren and making the most of what time we have left.
In January 2013 I lost MTL.

Did you take that photograph or is it off a postcard?
Granny Annie: I took it. The light is very conducive to photography.
Thanks for the story. I wish you post more photos. They are lovely.
Cheers.

Judy: it has a lot to offer.
That really is a great photo! It does look like a postcard!

NurseMyra: the light in Greece is like no other I've seen.

Nea: thanks for that. Just in case I have wiped the scanner clean
