At least yours are neat and in a closed cupboard. Mine are on open shelves and really need to be sorted!!

I am thinking that no matter how nice the room you have them in, a plant that grows outside needs to be outside or in a greenhouse.
When I lived in Laguna Beach my orchids looked nice in the home but when I put them out side they grew and bloomed like crazy... who knew ?
The one bloom you showed was wonderful.

Parsnip: sadly I don't have a green house. As soon as there is no chance of a frost I'll put the pots outside and just pray.
Sing to them?
Play classical music?
Or just most them to somewhere warm?
