This is beautiful Snake River just taken by my son Angus who is visiting Wyoming - lucky boy!
It' s a few miles south of Jackson. Magical names. Has anyone been or does anyone know it or even live there?

Wow that is beautiful, and no I've never been there.
BEAUTIFUL picture by Angus! I have never been there but have seen the area in films....That is a Beautiful River and I find those names very romantic, too.....!
No, I have never been...
Oh, the vastness of that country!
Sx
I have friends who live in Jackson Hole, Wyoming half of each year. They have a beautiful place and I have seen their pictures and heard their stories, but despite numerous invitations, I have never visited them.
Do you remember Evil Knievel? He tried to jump a rocket-powered motorcycle across the Snake River Canyon back in the 70's. Fail.
This really is a big, beautiful country. Has he been to the desert in the southwest? People think the desert is barren and dead but it's not. It's actually quite beautiful.
I have never been there, but I know people who have and they say it is a beautiful area. Tell Angus I love his photo!!
Joey: nice to hear from you.
Naomi: everything looks so vast and spacious. They have had a lovely time travelling - been close to a bear and are now in New York.
scarlet: yes I have to keep adjusting my mental scale.
Granny Annie: my ship mate Dylan
reckons you should accept all reasonable invitations rather than spend long lonely days at home. Go girl!
Exile: yes I remember him but not the failed feat.
Last year Angus started from San Francisco - which they didn't warm to. But then they went in the desert and loved it.
We were in S.F. in the eighties and it wasn't the magical place I had expected.
Judy: thanks - I'll tell him:)
Sorry I've never been there either, but it looks wonderful. I hope they didn't get too close to the bear?
Lovely....
Nea: all I know is Angus got a shot of the retreating bear which he didn't rate good enough to send. I expect to hear bear stories when they return.
Wonderful!!
Mage: I wonder if you have ever seen it?
John: aptly named don't you think?
Beautiful photo for a beautiful place. I have driven through the sate but did not get to visit. I have been fly fishing in Idaho though.
The west has the big skies that I love.
cheers, parsnip
Yes, Angus sure is a lucky chappie!
I'd love to travel through America one day.
parsnip: I like the sound of fly fishing in Idaho.
GG: me too. When would suit you?
