Everyone Sang

Suddenly this morning - as bright sunshine glowed from the east - Sassoon’s poem came to life:

Everyone suddenly burst out singing;
And I was filled with such delight
As prisoned birds must find in freedom,
Winging wildly across the white
Orchards and dark green fields, on – on – and out of sight.

Everyone’s voice was suddenly lifted;
And beauty came like the setting sun:
My heart was shaken with tears, and horror
Drifted away…O but Everyone
Was a bird; and the song was wordless; the singing will
 never be done

Siegfried Sassoon

Never before have I seen a rose and a daffodil bloom together in my garden in January and I am filled with hope and optimism.  As David Attenborough says:
’It’s a wonderful world!’  We should make the most of it.

Yay for birds! [I just wrote about 'bird' too]. After days of rain and gloom, the sun is out today too! Woo hoooo.I never thought I'd be happy to see the sun in the tropics.

Happy everything, Pat.

GG: I'll be over to read it later.
All good wishes back to you and the family.

In the Netherlands apparently spring has started already... but then where was winter?? (I remain suspicious...)

You must live in a tropical paradise compared to where I am at the moment. Gale force winds and frigid temps. It's going to be a few months before the daffodils and roses show up.

Cheers.

Marjolein: there is always flaming June:)

Thank you Savannah- and to you and yours.xoxo

Randall: last night was a very disturbed one with the French window in the bedroom threatening to burst open and the sound of a waterfall gushing from the gutters. Trees down - roads blocked - the lot!

Map: ours comes and goes and it has just come again.

Kevin: thank you - and for you.

T'will be a time of great joy and merrymaking when the roses and daffodils bloom in January, for this will be the sign.
