Lordy! I didn't even realize she was still alive...Bless Her Heart! I remember a film short that Durbin made with Judy Garland, when they were both about the age she was in this clip from 1937... Amazing, Pat. I wish he Happy Birthday, too!
Naomi: I remember the film with Judy too. She retired from public life about 1950 and married a film director. As far as I know she still lives in a farmhouse outside Paris France.
I have heard of her and I have seen her in old movies but never put the name and the actor together as the same. Does that make sense? So that is her real voice?
Granny Annie: Durbin's voice was a beacon of light in the dreary years of rationing and utility. I used to sing all her songs practising her beatific smile. Yes it is certainly her voice.
Kevin: as one does;)
Randall: I have a feeling she did something political at one time but can't find any evidence.
Grand mother but still a girl at heart. Married to MTL(my true love)after a separation of 30 years. Had three careers: trained paediatric nurse, National photographic model and business woman. Now settled in SW and enjoying our five children and ten grandchildren and making the most of what time we have left. For the last three years have been working on my memoirs and have now completed a final revision.

Coo, an eerie coincidence: I was withering on about Deanna Durbin just yesterday.
She's a classic.
Cheers.
