The ones that got away

Through balcony window. Note church tower - if your eyes are good enough and MTL's arch
.
Of course I meant fuchsia not freesia.

This is the name I don't know

The roses that were here before us.

Potentilla moonlight

We love this and used to have the indoor version - plumbago.

All are so lovely, but honestly, can anything beat a rose? As far as the "unknown" ones, I just know them as trumpet flowers.

yes, we call them trumpet flowers here, as well - i must say i am partial to the hibiscus - so exotic - although it's true, not much can compare to a rose - what absolutely beautiful gardens/beds/pots you have - and it's obvious how much TLC they all receive - it really is wonderful to drop by your place -

absolutely gorgeous, sugar! we have trees and a few bushes in ours because the MITM has plans for a new deck and addition to the house, so landscaping is on hold. *sigh* xoxoxox

I can't get over the fact that you actually get hibiscus blooming there! In Scotland, the poor things would be pale and wan -- if by some crazy fluke they made it through winter. Beautiful flowers.

How lush and verdant it all looks. Love the arch, who cares about the white van men?

Granny Annie: trumpet flowers - excellent.

Gypsywoman: I had excellent teachers, one of whom is staying her right now and she was pleased with the garden;)

Savannah: trees and a few bushes is all you need - especially if you have hubby on a creative splurge.

Pearl: considering it's August - it's not bad.

GG: it's very calming especially with all the wild life. Of which more tomorrow.

Randall: it just doesn't feel like Monday today. But then we were convinced Saturday was Sunday. Wait till you retire - you'll understand.

Parsnip: I shall tell the garden tomorrow - it'll be cock a hoop:)

LOK: thanks:)

Mary: that's why we live in Somerset rather than Yorkshire. Don't you have those beautiful blue poppies in Scotland?

Eryl: I do if it stops them coming to fix things.
