What a Joy!

I have just watched this brilliant movie with my heart in my mouth for much of the time - you never know with Danny Boyle and destiny - I won't give away the ending but but there was a glorious all singing and dancing finale. It was great to be in Mumbai again and see the Taj - even the train looked familiar. Bravo!

I came in for the last thirty mins or so, and was about to switch over at the end credits when daughters all shouted " NO! The dance scene!!"

I'm glad they made me watch!

You and the video have convinced me to have Martha rent it.

It is a great film, when his Lordship suggested watching it I wasn't really that bothered, but I am so glad that I did. The dance scene is worth watching the film for.

Glad you didn't give away the ending, as I haven't seen it yet, but we recorded it last night so should be able to watch it soon, maybe even this weekend.

Savannah: sure lifted my spirits.

Mapstew: welcome! You're lucky you weren't lynched:)

Lakeviewer: it reminded me of the last scene in the Titanic when all the tragedy disappeared and all was love and light and warmth.

Charlie: fingers crossed you both enjoy it.

ST Jude: and weren't the principals great dancers?

Queenie: it was second thoughts - I did mention the ending then though better of it. Enjoy!

One of the best movies for some time in so many ways.

You're right about Danny Boyle mind. You don't always get what you see...in a way...very talented chap though.

Oh, and by the way...a current film that is really wonderful, "CRAZY HEART". Jeff Bridges embody's that character, completely. a TRUE Award winning performance. and it is a :ittLe movie...not full of "special effects"...It's about people. I LOVED IT!

I watched it too! And I was foot tapping and thought about downloading the soundtrack.

Naomi: I've already heard good things about that film and I'm very fond of Jeff Bridges so will certainly try to see it.

Scarlet: did you watch Kevin McCloud 'Slumming it' in Mumbai last night? I can't believe he would stand the course sleeping in a hovel with 21 family members and rats. Second part tonight 8pm Ch 4.

I am such a dampener sometimes as I detested the film, having refused to watch it until I had finished the book.

The book is incredible and totally unlike the film - I was so disappointed when I saw the DVD.

Still, that's what usually happens...:(

I'm probably the only person who hasn't watched it, and I have the DVD!

I've always been a fan of Anil Kapoor.

And A. R. Rahman, I love that musician.

Zed: there were some horrible things in the film as we saw when we went to India but there was a lot of joy too and I was constantly amazed at the happiness that seemed to prevail in spite of the abject poverty. I must try to read the book. I wonder what is in the book that the film didn't capture?

GG: get watching please and let us know what you think.
