A Special Day

We do have rather a lot of anniversaries but this is special and rather than bore the pants off the regulars I’ll refer you to:http://patspastimperfect.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
Just scroll down to January 5th 2009 and you’ll see why.

It’s also four years since I started Past Imperfect and I bless # 1 son who got me started and all the good friends who have been so helpful, supportive and a pleasure to get to know.

We – weather permitting - are going to kill two birds with one stone and have dinner at a (new- to- us) recommended Restaurant in Dunster on Wednesday night. My sons have also asked me to choose somewhere where they can take us for lunch on my birthday in March so this may be a contender. It is also a chance to use one of the excellent taxi services here.

MTL had a medical appointment yesterday and the car wouldn’t start so we were glad to have been given the number of Chris’s taxis. Later the garage sent a mechanic round, he got the car started and wouldn’t take any payment. Bodes well for the New Year.

Remember it’s time to undeck the halls with boughs of holly – 12th day tomorrow I believe.
One resolution I would do well to make is to master links; after thinking I had the knack - with a lot of cyber help from friends - I seem to have lost it. Nitwit!

I think it makes perfect sense to have lots of anniversaries, because then you get lots of celebratory meals out. I hope you enjoy today, and Wednesday, and your birthday in March, and all the others too!

We both make the oldest and the youngest commenters on Kim's blog! Was recommended to visit your blog by him. And it's a good thing he did!
I gather that your blog is more of a virtual diary. For me, I am still trying to catch up... have to tell my readers about the events in the first ten years of my life! :)

Hardly a nitwit, more a wee bisom with a heart of gold, and such lovely hair to match.

I have just answered all your comments and blogger has eaten them. So disheartening. Thank you for all your nice thoughts and forgive me for not typing them again.
Hugs all round and a welcoming pat for young Jack.

Very happy special anniversary to you and ytl, I hope you had a lovely meal and are now warmly tucked up together. XXX

Eryl: thank you and how lovely to have you back;)

Glad you have the car functioning again, although not the best time to be using it, with the snow and all.

There's a good example of how to use links here

Rashbre: many thanks. I'll give it a good go when my brain has thawed a bit. Lucky you seeing 'Nine'

A Very Happy Blogaversaty, my dear, and Happu Other Anniversaries, too! I hope you have a lovely dinner---weather permiting....

Naomi: thank you for the wishes - it's 3.43 in the afternoon. I'm going to soak in a hot bath - always a comfort whatever the weather;)
I'm just remembering that this time of year is when I feel at my lowest ebb.

Cold weather, I crave it when it gets too hot here.

Do you still have the email I'd sent on how to do links?

The same instructions apply for when you want to add a blog post link to a new story etc, that you're writing.

If you don't have that email, I'll see if I still have it. Mwah.

I bless your Number 1 son also!! I'm happy that he got you started blogging - happy blogiversary!

If you go out in that snow - please be careful!!

GG: I typed it out and it's sitting on my desk right now because it's the only one I understand but just lately - and I'm sure it is dashboard that is weird - it hasn't worked. I followed Rashbre's link but it is complicated to follow for someone like me. I'll keep trying:)

Judy: thanks Judy and I will.

To do a link its:

<a href="http://www.my.link">the text (or picture) you want to click on</a>

In effect, the "text you want to click on" is then made hot as a link, based upon the web address that precedes it (in my example its http://www.my.link).

so to jump to your entry about Reese Witherspoon, you'd type:

<a href="http://patspastimperfect.blogspot.com/2010/01/ill-bet-reese-knows-what-day-it-is.html">click here to see Reese</a>

And it would work like this...

Rashbre: sorry - I missed you back here. You are kind to take the trouble and thank you for giving me something to practice on. My grand daughter is good at getting me over a hurdle so hopefully I shall see her before long and I can stop letting everybody down.

Thanks! My granny would have been exactly your age and probably a lot like you... would have made one cool granny, I must say!

Jack: I hope my grandchildren would agree with you:)
