Snow again.

Well they did say the SW would get it again. I walked down to the town yesterday for a dentist’s appointment (all fine just a crown tidied) bought birthday cards up till March, had the new pad affixed to my glasses and tried on and rejected two winter coats. Then last night – for some reason felt as if I had cracked ribs. This morning it has eased off but the snow has decided me and in spite of being all behind – figuratively speaking – I’m going back to bed to resist the temptation of trying to catch up.

Fortunately we are well stocked after a big shop. One of our old neighbours fell on the ice, broke a leg and is in hospital where visitors are not allowed because of infection. So no-one is going anywhere for a while. Take care!

the thaw has set in here but I am confined to bed anyway!

Be careful on the snow. This is a bad time of year for broken hips. Better to just stay inside and enjoy hot toddies all day.

Cheers.

Some good books, a tea/coffee maker at your bedside and a comfy pillow. What more could you want?

We have had even more

Beleek: oh dear! What's up? whatever it us get well soon.

Randall: staying put don't worry. Hot toddies are a good idea and then there's the port to drink up.

Sandy; a new sofa. The one I use in the family roomhas become too low and rising out of it is not as easy as it was.

LOM: at least it is less cold here so hopefully it won't stick.

Very sensible, stay put. I'm doing much the same as it's been snowing here all day. I don't think it's going to hang around for weeks again, though, this time.

Not stopped all day here, fortunately only light!

Queenie: I do hope you're right hon.

John.G: hope you are well stocked up:)

I hope you're feeling better, Pat.
We had a terrible snowstorm yesterday afternoon/evening and at one point thought that the power was going to go. It all seems to be melting now, but now we have fog. Thick fog.
Sx

You take care too, Pat! It is so cold and yucky here in Brooklyn. I'm trying not to be longing for Spring with too much enthusiasm--after all, time is precious and one doesn't want always to be living only for the next moment--however...*whispers* I'm still longing for Spring...

regarding your last post, we are most certainly feeling the pinch. But fresh flowers in midwinter are a great help to the blues!

Scarlet: much better after a rest and a hot soak thank you. You have had it worse there but we now also have the thick fog. Horrid! As long as we can all keep warm.

Leah: I've lived my life always looking forward to something. I don't know how I would cope otherwise. Here's to Spring and family visits and the naughty pudding I'm having tonight:)

Apparently there have been a record number of broken legs in this area. Glad you're stocked up

Pat said...

Kim: my record is three (broken legs) Quite enough in one lifetime:)

Apparently, when they said, "Break a leg, kid!", you took it literally.

And if I'm reading you right, the hospital put your neighbor in a ward with people with infections. Very smart: go in with a broken leg, come out with pneumonia.

Oh My Dear Pat....I feel for you. All that SNOW * ICE AND COLD....Terrible!
Yesterday I was out for a ride with dear Lee M. and we came across some BEAUTIFUL Flowers outside of a couple of homes. All I could think about was what I paradise I live in--While so so many are freezing their bottoms off, we are warm in the sun with beautiful flowers in abundance....
Not fair, I know....!
I hope you feel better, my dear and you are smart NOT to go out and take any chances....!

Charlie: it seems incredible - and it's second hand news but it's something to do with the Noro virus. He is in his nineties poor man.

Naomi: I'm glad for you - you deserve to live in a lovely place. It's lovely here - most of the time:)

Wrap up warm and don't watch daytime TV!

(We're still in the thaw, with odd little snow showers that don't do anything but irritate. Which means that when the weekend freeze comes in we'll all be sliding round on our backsides.)

Please stay out of the ice and snow, Pat! We don't want you in the hospital too.

How nice that you can walk to town weather and ice permitting.
It has been in the 70's in Tucson, even for us a bit too warm should be low 60's but we are to get colder weather today and hopefully next week it will be rain... we need our winter!
Thinking blue skies and warmer weather for you.

Kevin; will do;)

Parsnip: difficult to imagine. Our family in Australia are having a heat wave. We soldier on:)

My sister said there was *snow* in Florida. I think she's making it up.

GG: could be. One thing's for sure climate change is happening every where.
