My Sweet Pea Fairy

You don't have to believe in fairies but isn't she adorable? She's a last minute gift from Margaret and there's a poem on the back and everything. Click and you can read the poem. It's far too precious to use that hook so I must get a large enough plate stand.

Ooh, I'd forgotten about the Flower Fairies - I used to looooove them when I was a little girl, I was convinced they lived in foxglove bells. Villeroy and Boch, too - there's posh!

She is lovely; I'd have killed for a costume like that when I was a child.

We here at Theweatherinthestreets adore Cicely Mary Barker and her magical illustrations. Hedgehog has an enormous collection of her books, and we all enjoy looking at them.

p.s. yes, even Sarge...

Queenie: Margaret literally had her bedroom wall covered with them.

Eryl: I reckon you would still look fetching in it.

Leah: I'm delighted:)

Oh I love those illustrations, they are how you would like to imagine fairies. What a lovely gift.

When I was a child, I used to stare for ages at beautiful pictures...this reminds me of how I used to do that.

StJude: I don't think I've ever grown out of fairies.

Four.D: you'd be very unwise to do so - it's poisonous. Read the small print:)

Judy: the books sound interesting - I must look out for them.

GG: I think the little girl stays in some of us no matter how old we get.

What a lovely reminder of good times. It is sad when friends move away but the memories will stay forever - and there's always the phone and email!

On Friday I met up with a friend who moved to Devon about ten years ago. It's good to know that she's close by again. We'd managed to stay in touch and I'm glad we did.

A lovely memento, dear. That doesn't mean, however, there are not more memories to be made.

Cheers.
