Judy: what can I say? We were both very shy and our countries had been at war for six years. I wasn't so much pure as backward and he was a perfect gent.
Oh how I love old pictures, my dear. These are really wonderful....You have a maturity at 19 that was quite enviable! And G. was quite the fellow, wasn't he...?
Naomi: Gerhardt was a sweetie. He sent me a food parcel when he got home which was really touching - we were far better fed than the Germans were.
