Burbling on.

Last night I got involved in a tape of Simon Schama extolling the poet John Donne and completely forgot the footie in Rome. Google is being very cagey about it but I gather we lost. Oh dear! My Dad would not be pleased but at least he’ll be delighted about Burnley’s success – along with Alastair Campbell.

How fickle are the public – and the judges of ‘Britain’s got Talent’ One minute you are the best thing since sliced bread and the next your champion Piers Morgan allows he may be a dough nut.. It’s hard for the young – first they are flavour of the month and then it’s’ kindly leave the stage.’

An unlikely act of a buxom lady singing arias whilst her partner arranges flowers was defended by Piers Morgan asserting that we didn’t know much about the Queen ( the winner will perform for her) but two things she was passionate about were flowers and classical music. Really? Gee gees, little yapping dogs, her duty to her country and possibly flowers but classical music? I don’t think so.

The surprise finalist is a portly Greek father and son doing a bare torsoed Greek dance with charming gusto, possibly familiar to Her Maj as she has been married to one since the fifties.

The Apprentice continues to fascinate; the awesome Deborah was actually given a kind word from the mentor Nick and James, the likeable clown was asked,

‘Was you nervous?’ by Sir Alan.

A riveting programme IMO and there is always at least one good laugh. The other mentor Margaret appeared later on the follow up programmes. What an attractive person she is.

I have to avoid the Apprentice - I find it excruciating. The rest of the family are avid watchers so I have to leave the room, possibly the house, until 10.30pm

I am a project manager, The Apprentice makes me cringe and breathe fire at the same time. I don't watch it anymore, they are all unbelievably obnoxious

Sorry, can't stand either of them!

Kim: MTL doesn't watch either and I'm not proud of it but I do like to see the baddies get their come-uppance occasionally.

Joliet Jake: I hope they are not like that in the real world? One of my sons is a project manager - I must ask him.

John.g.: nothing to apologise for - I'm proud of you:)

I have never watched the Apprentice but looking at that pic you have them they all look a bit scary!

And I always feel a bit sorry for the contestants on 'Britain’s got Talent’they all think they are going to win then get really upset when they don't

Oh Pat! Of course I love it all!
Deborah is compulsive viewing!
I watch Britain's Got Talent because I find Simon's expressions so funny... AND I too thought 'Corgis'!!!
I wish the press would leave the contestants alone and stop being so nasty. It's supposed to be a bit of Summer fun - not to be taken seriously.

Lom: if you watched BGT tonight I expect like me you cried with poor little Holly.

Scarlet: I think Simon is turning into a chipmunk or what ever the animal is that has its cheeks stuffed with food. He gives the impression of being honest in an utterly charmless way.

Is The Apprentice like the one here with Donald Trump? If it is....Lord Help Us! I cannot watch that.
BGT...all we see here are some things on YouTube and of course Susan Boyle was and still is a HUGE Hit here....That I Loved!

Naomi: the difference is that I don't like Donald Trump and Sir Alan sugar makes me laugh and it really flushes out the ghastly people.

Tonight is the final of BGT- it's the first year I have watched so I'm very interested in what happens tonight.

I wish I'd put money on Diversity because I kept saying they were going to win.
