Sic transit.... our generation takes its leave bit by bit - but not without succumbing to nasty illnesses first in many cases. We sigh and wait. Nice man - VERY funny -but not easy to be around, I think. Met him myself once, at dinner with another playwright - not so successful and also now dead - long dead - along with his long-suffering wife. He held the floor as I remember. Shame you didn't go dancing with him..But probably just as well.
Naomi: it's like the little brother of your lovely ones:)
GrannyP: considering the 65 cigarettes and three bottles of champagne daily , the end was inevitable but he had a lot of tragedy in his life - not least losing his mother when she was still in her prime. And then his younger brother Piers. Under the acerbic wit I'm sure there was a good man. I think it was wiser not to have accepted the invitation; Barbara was not without a streak of mischief.
Grand mother but still a girl at heart. Married to MTL(my true love)after a separation of 30 years. Had three careers: trained paediatric nurse, National photographic model and business woman. Now settled in SW and enjoying our five children and ten grandchildren and making the most of what time we have left.
In January 2013 I lost MTL.
