I stayed in a similar hotel last summer--it claimed outstanding views (which it had), but the rooms were old and smoke filled. But it was just me and I sucked it up (including the air) and stuck around. Here from Michile's.
The only problem we've had is finding p*rn magazines in the room (of a Hilton) and getting one with a broken air conditioner. We moved quickly to other rooms, both times!
Marianne: not that we actually swim in the sea these days but Bridport does sound attractive. Especially if the hotels don't have burgundy coloured artex everywhere!
Grand mother but still a girl at heart. Married to MTL(my true love)after a separation of 30 years. Had three careers: trained paediatric nurse, National photographic model and business woman. Now settled in SW and enjoying our five children and ten grandchildren and making the most of what time we have left.
In January 2013 I lost MTL.

Hi Sage! You have the same Dunkirk spirit!
what a lovely shore!
glad you had some 'away" time
here from michele, my only vacation spot....
Hi David! we are lucky to live in a lovely spot also but time away makes you appreciate it more.
What a lovely, wide, flat beach that is!

The problem with Weymouth beach is that you have to walk about 5 miles into the sea to get deep enough to swim.
More intrepid swimmers will prefer East Beach at BRIDPORT, which shelves rapidly, allowing a good brisk dip close into shore.
We don't have bathing tents though. And it's pebbles.

Kenju,
Normally hotels don't supply porn magazines. If you need some, best to ask the night porter.
andrewm: you are asking fot it and I shall give Kenju(Judy) permission to give you a belt round the ear!
Andrew, you naughty boy! Is that where you get yours?
I shall tell mr. kenju where to ask for them, although I think he probably knows that already....LOL.
P.S. Pat, I noticed yesterday that the hotel we will be staying in next week is smoke free. Yay!!
Judy: it's something I will have to remember to check in future.
