Sir Philip Sidney
I copied and pasted this onto Word but it wouldn't publish so I photograped it from the web site and put it on Picasa and published - which seems very long winded. Any suggestions?  Posted by Picasa

Have you cleared copyright to use the image?

LoaB: please don't give me heart failure. It was meant to be with the previous copy and I assumed as I acknowledged the source it was OK.
What should I have done?

Nothing,,,just wanted to wind you up a bit with intellectual property.

That sounds like a round about way to do it - but I can't think of how else you could have.

Thanks Judy - that's a comfort.:)

Got 'Paint' on yer pc? Should be with yer original programmes. 99% of things you can copy n paste to 'Paint' n go from there. if not try my mate 'Donna' on me links. She's IT n very pc clever n dishes out advice for the hell of it. (Occasionally unintelligible but free)

I think you have to save it first. I'll see what I can find out.

4d: I think I have paint - i do have a son here this week-end - experiencedin IT, has his own web-site but not into blogging. I'll give it a go and thanks.

granny: I'll try the saving too. Thanks for your help - as ever.
After LoaB's commentI lost some enthusiasm - the little monkey!

Hullo there :o)

Have just started reading - love the blog!

As to "borrowing"pictures off the web - goto the picture on the web and right click on it. Choose tha "Save picture as..." option and save as a jpeg to desktop, Then paint or paintshop pro to your hearts content :o)

Hi Sim: welcome and thanks for the tip - I'll give it a go.

Sim.

Thanks even though you never heard of me. I struggle with it too.

Your explanation was much clearer than mine. I can never remember the save as.

Save as what I say. And then I look it up one more time.

Always jpeg (or jpg - does it matter?) and always desktop. I think I have it now.

Granny: I tried it last night but then couldn't find it. Will try again when my brain has woken up.
