AS YOU CAN SEE - IMMEDIATELY BELOW I HAVE NOW DONE FOUR LINKS. APPARENTLY I CAN DO IT FROM 'DASHBOARD' BUT NOT FROM 'WORD'...UNLESS YOU KNOW DIFFERENT?

Oh, now I feel bad that I can't seem to explain it.
If you type the exact same "Dashboard" thing into Word, then cut and paste the Word doc onto dashboard, you should have no problem.
Cheers, dear and glad you're back safe.
As technology doesn't like me I'm shuttin' up before I start...
Thanks Randall. Enough experiment for one day - I'll save that for tomorrow.
I've never tried preparing in Word so I don't know. I have the wrong version for it to many of the blogger things for me so I just cross my fingers (makes it a little hard to type) and type directly on the post.
I suppose you could do everything on Word and just add the links later. I don't know.
I agree with your observation, it's temperamental. Sometimes I put the formula straight in, sometimes I transfer it from word. At times it won't accept a transfer, at times it does...blogger is very temperamental.
fjl: yes and the b----r of it is you don't know if it's worked until it's too late.
I hold my breath every time I press 'publish'.
Save it as a draft, then, when this is done, access the unpublished post , then hit the 'preview' button.
Then use the back button to make adaptatios.
Save it as a draft before hitting 'preview', or it won't keep your post.
fjl: next time I'm feeling brave...
Just jump in and keep experimenting. It's the only way. Look at my amazing progress ;-)
Congrats! I'm still learning about my blog :o)
kath: I think you are way ahead of me.
