Alert - from a reputable source
A card is posted through the door from a company called PDS (Parcel Delivery Service) suggesting that they were unable to deliver a parcel and you need to contact them on 0906 6611911. That`s a premium rate number. DO NOT call the number, it`s a scam originating from Belize.
If you did call it, you`d hear a recorded message begin, and you`d already have been billed £315 for the call.
If you get such a card, please contact Royal Mail Fraud on 02072396655.

Good Lord! That is a nightmare, isn't it? I hope this does not cross the pond ...! Thanks for the Heads-Up, Pat.....
Yikes! What will these scammers think of next? Surely someone will catch them leaving the note on their home video security.
who are these THIEVES who come up with this, and why do the phone companies seem complicit ?
Even when forwarded from the best of friends, it's always worth checking on the validity of anything asking you to tell all your friends.
While I'm sure it was sent to you with the best of intentions, I'm afraid this one is outdated. It was a scam that was shut down back in 2005.
2 good sources to see if something is genuine or not is
Hoax Slayer
and
Snopes
(both these links explain the source and truth of this particular email-forward)
ALL: sorry folks - looks like I've been had. Good advice see Kim's comment.
I shall kneel on peas forthwith.
