In that documentary I mentioned, Peck does these lectures all around the country, talking about his life and career, and when he is one particular city, a very grown-up Mary Badham, who played Scout in the film, is there in the audience. They have this wonderful exchange and it is very very touching....!
Peck was the perfect person and at the perfect age when he played Atticus. He has said it was his favorite role. One can see why.
Oh I wanted to ask you if you saw the film about Truman Capote with Toby Jones playing him anmd Sandra Bullock playing Harper Lee? It is a really wonderful film---better than the other one with Philip Seymour Hoffman, in my humble opinion. And Sandra Bullock as Harper Lee was truly wonderful!! It was a GREAT Script, too. Another film worth seeing.
Naomi: the relationship between Atticus and Scout is so sweet and seemed very real in the film. I must see that documentary
Peck had really matured by then and he was so right in the part.
No I haven't seem the film you mention but will look out for it.
Wasn't it amazing she lived next door to Truman?
