COMMENTS
May I just say that I never knowingly don't answer a comment - if only with a smile. However sometimes they get jumbled and I miss one. And sometimes answers I have written get gobbled up by some evil power. OK and sometimes I miss scrolling down for word verification and think I've posted something when I haven't.
This has just happened - whatever the reason - with Kevin, Four Dinners and Jimmy.
As if I would ever ignore three such lovely gentlemen.

Och away hen, the new specs and a fresh pot of tea will paid to your worries. The scars of your callous neglect will soon heal upon our sturdy bodies.
Jimmy: as ever you bring a smile to my face:)
y'all are an inspiration, sugar! i have become so neglectful of late that i am almost embarrassed to comment anywhere! xoxoxo
Savannah: you are always very welcome:)
I admit, I don't always reply to every single comment, sometimes it's just "thanks, darlings" or something like that! And sometimes, at the end of an exchange, I let the writer have the last word.
I like it whencommenters start chatting and replying to each others' comments.
Z: sometimes it's just repetition and a communal acknowledgement is fine. You behave impeccably and none of your reader would ever have reason to grumble. I just hate it when comments are lost which does happen to both mine and readers. And there is no consistency. Usually they come via my in-box straight into the comment box since I stopped comment approval but every now and then I'll find some lurking in Dashboard
It's difficult sometimes to keep up with so many excellent blogs. I am sure you would not have offended anyone.
When I got hit with the Blogs of Note onslaught I said I'd have to ease off on the comment replies. But I didn't. Occasionally I'll do a "Thanks to all", depending on the post, but I still much prefer to reply to every comment. And I can't help but feel a little miffed on sites that never respond to comments left - especially when they're mine :)
I answer questions, I'll go to another blog if a long answer is needed, but often comments are just atta-boys and really don't need replies.
It happens to all of us, Pat, or maybe I should just say it happens to me. My biggest problem of late: thinking I left a comment when in fact I didn't.
And you, along with Jimmy and Kim, are the best commenters I know. Chatty in the U.K., aren't you.
I like this idea of me being a gentleman! (-:
I do try to always respond, though it often takes me a few days (or even weeks!) to come up with a useful response.
Cinnamon: it's all in what people are used to. If you do something different people wonder why - if you are slightly paranoid like me.
Kim: my heart went out to you when it happened and I realised that I would probably have had a nervous crise.
Maggie: that makes sense. It's a case of what one has led people to expect. There are excellent bloggers who only respond once in a blue moon if at all.
Charlie: I think - probably - we do like to put our four cents in:)
Kevin: sometimes one's comments border on the inane and hardly warrant a response.
Kevin: P.S. I'm talking about comments I make:)
:-p
(:
Kevin: I only know 2 - :) happy and :( sad.
