My mother had a 78 of Deanna Durbin singing Ave Maria. She loved Deanna Durbin's voice. RIP

Indeed, Indeed! Here in the states--TCM plays a lot of her films---it is always so wonderful to see her again. I remember how much I loved her when I was a girl....!
I admired her for leaving the spotlight and having a "life" for herself and her family, outside that arena....! RIP, lovely Deana.

Roseneath: I still know all the words to most of her songs.

Granny Annie: me too:)

Map: she was my hero when I
was a young girl.

Naomi: me too. I wanted to be Deanna Durbin. My sister played the piano and I sang all her songs - verses and all:)

I confess I don't know much about her. Is that really her whistling or has it been dubbed in by a cheery postman?

Gadjo: I firmly believe it would be herself. With that voice she could walk on water.
After worldwide fame she turned her back on it and settled for a secluded life with her third husband in France.
