FRUSTRATION!

My son reminded me yesterday that I wouldn't be here forever so I determined today to get on with writing and stuff. Fell at the first fence when my keyboard numbers seized up. This has happened before and it finally fixed itself after I pressed random keys. Not this time though, so by way of an interlude here are some recent snaps.

We had a super roast here at the Dragon House when my step - daughter visited

Lucifer takes up a lot of space but is a gorgeous red.

Fuschia is rife here. Fun to pop.

Someone said hydrangea reminded her of cauliflowers but they are good value and I raved as a child about bright blue ones at Windermere.

That nemesia goes on and on - in the same pot.

Belle Etoile with a divine smell.

The frst of my three new lillies.

The loo at the Dragon House - with dear little hand towels

You may not be here forever, Pat, but you've got a lovely bright Fuschia!

I have keyboard issues too and I'm never quite sure how I manage to fix them. So frustrating!

I love all of the flowers in your photos and have most of them here. But my lilies are nowhere near as nice as yours, and having FINALLY managed to tear out a huge patch of Montbretia (for the umpteenth time -- fingers crossed they won't come back), that photo of Lucifer made me shiver. And that awful name...

The flowers are always so gorgeous, Pat! I love that you include so many photos of them. Why is the Dragon House called that? Do they house a small one on the top floors amongst the chimneys? ;-)

I've worn the E off my keyboard and even though I often type without looking at the keys, I frequently hit the W instead because the E has disappeared. I know... makes no sense! Over here, keyboards are cheap. You can get a decent on for less than $20. Why not just buy a new one? That and the mouse are the most inexpensive parts of a computer.

Lovely pics! I used to pop Fuschias as a kid!

Scarlet: I can type the numbers on a Word Doc so it must be the form I'm trying to complete. It doesn't impress me much!
I expect you can live without an e?

Nurse Myra: thank you;)

Mary: I'd forgotten you hate monbretia. My lillies are from Sarah Raven and the other two yet to bloom are also white but different. I can't wait to see them.

Ponita: it's a fairly new keyboard and as I told Scarlet I can type the numbers on a Word doc so it must be the wretched form I'm trying to complete. I'm rapidly going off the idea.
I think the Dragon House is just a random name but it is very old and has been used as a monastery and for smuggling.

Lovely flowers, dear. I must say, though, I've never been tempted to take a picture of a public restroom. In some places, such behavior will get you arrested.

Cheers.

Oh...all your flowers are so lush and beautiful...! The Abundance of all these gorgeous plants says how much you love them, Pat.

I've never seen a Sink like that before--Anywhere! Raised up like that...Hmmmmm. It seems an odd sort of placement, to me.....But pretty!

I love the photo of Dragon House and your garden is looking wonderful as usual !
I adore Belle Etoile, what a lovely name. I wonder if I could plant it in Tucson. Beautiful !

cheers, parsnip

Given the current state of my garden, I shall swoon with envy. Fancy a weekend in Derby deadheading flowers?

Pat said...

Randall: there is one in Taunton and the lady who looks after it has filled every inch with artificial flowers - really weird. I didn't dare take a shot of it.

Naomi: sinks like that are all the rage - if you like that sort of thing. They just don't look right to me - like sharp edges on a bath.

Parsnip: definitely worth a try and the heat would bring out the smell.

Madame D: I wish I could. Dead heading is one of my favourite occupations:)

Seeing your Bell Etoile last year I meant to get myself one this, but haven't got round to it. Your garden looks lovelier every year, and that's a very posh looking loo!

Eryl: that's a sweet way of telling me I'm repeating myself. But I tell myself that was then - this is now and folk are very kind and understanding. Treat yourself to one (Belle Etoile) I've just bought an agapanthus which I've coveted for years.

Lovely photos, Pat. Your flowers are just beautiful! I hope you get your computer sorted out. My games came back, abut now it is thundering badly, so I may not be on long tonight.

Judy: I and my team of experts have decided that the fault lies not in my keyboard but in faulty configuration of the on-line form I was trying to complete.
Good luck with the storm. I'm no sure where you are timewise. Are you 10 hours behind us?

When I read the first line I thought 'WHAT' then relised he was talking about your book, haha.

Lovely photos

Lom: he does tend to tell it like it is:)

I prefer to think of yearly repetition as progress updates. A garden is never quite the same from one year to the next.

I've tried growing agapanthus here but it just dies. If I find myself anywhere near a garden centre, and remember, I will treat myself to a BE.

Pat said...

Eryl: 'progress updates' excellent! I shall adopt it.
I was assured by the nice lady at the garden centre that agapanthus here is fine - I don't need to take it in or anything.
Having a Belle Etoile makes one feel closer to Proust. I don't know if he ever mentioned it but he should've. Definitely for you.
