This afternoon’s blooms.

The first post with accompanying copy wasn’t successful. The second – without the copy - was so I shall add copy now. Mustn’t grumble!

From the top – bluebells – for Kim. I wish they were a deeper blue. I’m sure his

Scottish ones will be.

The first iris - already fragrant.

Columbine – so pretty and always reminds me of the Bard and how close he was to nature.

The deep purple lilac – too high for me to reach.

A curtain of vanilla scented clematis – an annual delight.

These fantastic tulips were a surprise – I must have planted then last year.

Such a relief to have Picasa back – almost

There is definitely an imp who fiddles with my script. Don't think I haven't noticed!

Gorgeous flowers, Pat! Spring is slow here... We had a good dump of snow again Friday night - about 2 inches of wet snow - perfect for snowball fights! It is mostly melted now. Tulips are just poking through the soil at my old house. I'm thinking of getting a hanging basket of flowers for my balcony once it warms up (like in June!) to add some colour. I love your photos, though! You have a lovely garden.

Spring hath sprung. FINALLY.

Ponita: a hanging basket sound s good idea. I hope you are resisting tackling the boxes:)

Mapstew: not really. You'd have to be utterly hopeless not to grow things here. I think mine survive in spite of me.

You are still the most fragrant flower in the garden my dear Patricia.

Jimmy: oooh that's my Sunday name:)

UB: don't want to disillusion you but we've had snow at Easter before now;) We never really know what we're getting until it's here - in the UK

That Jimmy's a smooth one, isn't he! ;-)

I've resisted so far today but think I'll be failing soon. It's only midway through the afternoon. Need something to keep me busy!

Ponita: it's amazing how his charm transmits through the ether;)
One box at a time.

Bluebells! My favourite! I'm impressed you remembered :)

Still another month before they arrive here I think. Not a hint of them anywhere yet.

Kim: I have feeling these aren't true bluebells as there are pink and white ones. That's the trouble with not knowing much about photography, I'd love to make them a deep blue. or get the colours as they appear in the flesh. The lilac has too much red in it.

Parsip: our gardens are so different but both lovely:)

Debra: it is such a lovely time - full of promise:)

This is where I need to give you a tutorial in Photoshop.

The camera is limited by its lens and its sensor, so even the best camera in the world doesn't always take images that match what the eye sees. This is why we edit images. Sometimes we have to alter them to make them more true.

There's something deeply philosophical about that, but it's only half an hour before I go for my afternoon nap, so I don't have the head to explore it just now...

Always love the Columbine. Ours are more red and appear in mid-June on rocky glades in the Ozarks.

Cheers.

Kim: I'm glad you too have an afternoon nap. I know it is vital for you but if more people napped they would live longer and feel better.
Photoshop remains a mystery but I click on 'I'm feeling lucky' and crop with Picasa.

Randall: there are all colours available and when they naturalise they go purple.

Spring has Sprung!! Everything looks so very beautiful, Pat....I always love when you show us pictures of the lovely flowers in your charming garden....I am partial to Lavenders and Purples--But, in truth--I LOVE All colors and nature provides such a feast!

Incidentally Pat, there is a place on Picasa where the "hue" or color can be manipulated---it id not something I use very often at all, but you might play with it--you can always go back to the original.

Ladies, I can only call it as I see it. The thing about our Pat is that she constantly blooms that little bit more each day. What's not to admire?

Pat said...

Naomi; I'll see if I can find it. Sometimes the 'I'm feeling lucky' button makes it worse so I reverse it.
Jimmy: I'm not grumbling but too much blooming can result in blowsy. I'll have to watch that;)
