Not another dam thing!

Struggling to understand instructions on one of those forums trying to sort the Picasa problem (hundreds of us suddenly find we can no longer post photos to our blogs) I heard MTL calling.

Pat: Did you say something?

MTL: Have you seen the dead cat?

Pat: WHAT!!!!!

MTL: A dead cat - outside the garage door.

Pat: Not the tawny one?

MTL: Yes.

Oh God – everybody knows I’m not a cat lover – although I do admire them and like to watch them – from a distance and not in my garden. This one poos in front of the house, threatens the birds and only the other day left a dead mouse as a peace offering by the back porch. I could barely look its sister in the eye yesterday when I spotted the field mouse nibbling the fat balls. I’ve moaned about that cat so much everybody is going to think I did it in and its owner is Roy a favourite neighbour. It belonged to his late mother.

Pat: I shall have to tell Roy.

MTL: Have you looked at the calendar?

Pat: I know C comes today for the last chemo.

MTL: But have you looked at the calendar?

Slowly the penny dropped.

Some people have too much time on their hands!

Well played to MTL!

It's good to see/hear/read that he's in chipper spirits.

Cheers.

April Fool's jokes always bet me. Here's to a great month (and that's no joke :-)

Pat said...

Debra: I used to be the joker but he got me good and proper.

Great post!

Pat said...

Ponita: I have taken shots of the magnolias before they are blown away by the gales we have today. Just can't post then;(

Pearl: words/pearls I shall treasure.

John.G: I thought you loved cats!

Mapstew: half of me is irked and half of me tickled pink. It's good to see that devilish grin again:)

wahahahahahah !

It worked so well because you where struggling with another problem. Timing is everything !

I have always been very dense and trusting so I am very easily tricked !

Parsip: my defences were well and truly down.
Just you wait 'enry 'iggins - I'll get you next year!

Ahhhhh...MTL "gotcha" didn't he...lol....So far, no one has pulled an April Fools Day joke on me---I pray that they don't...!
But that was a really good one Pat, wasn't it?

I have a suggestion about how to get around Picassa....I will email you, my dear.

Were you sad to discover that the cat was still fat and happy with bird on its breath?

Pat said...

Naomi: you know I make an exception for Sweetie?
Any suggestions re the Picasa problem will be most welcome. I feel emasculated.

UB: I was mightily relieved. The thought of dealing with a catty corpse AND telling the owner, filled me with dread.

He got you good!!

I am sorry you aren't a cat lover, Pat. I don't understand people like that, but I'll give you a pass, since I know you to be a good person otherwise.

Pat said...

Judy: I blame my mother - she didn't like them and it rubbed off. My younger son makes up for it though -he has four and loves them dearly. And I would never harm them.

Now that's a mean April Fool! a dead cat AND dealing with the neighbour LOL

Queenie said...

Bullseye! Shows how well he knows you. YTL definitely won that one!

Pat said...

Deborah: fortunately he only kept me in suspenders for a few minutes!

Queenie: doesn't he just? It 's not just the last thirty odd years but he knew my previous. No fooling him:)

Ms Scarlet said...

I hope you got him back later!

I upload pics to Blogger by browsing my pc... trouble is I never label my pics properly so it takes ages and I never know where to look for them.

Pat said...

Scarlet: that is precisely my problem; I spend hours trying to find stuff and the boys try to teach me about files and folders and it doesn't register.
But nevertheless I have managed to publish photos. Why should it suddenly go pear-shaped?

Jimmy said...

I had to do a double take when I first began reading about the nibbling of fat balls.

Patricia, for a moment your halo slipped just a wee smidgen.

Ms Scarlet said...

How did I miss the fat balls? I must be sickening for something...
Sx

Pat said...

Jimmy: the birds love them and they are much easier to handle than loose nuts.

Scarlet: seriously though it is my favourite treat - for the birds, and our wee field mouse. They are done up in a sort of pale green mesh so there is no spillage to speak of.

Ms Scarlet said...

Gracious!!

Good to see he's on the ball :)

LiLix said...

I sympathize with your lawn 0_o

Pat said...

Scarlet: ;)

Kim: Hmmmm!

Lilix: as sure as eggs are eggs the minute the magnolias are full out the gales start.

I must be one of those people with too much time. I love April Fools Day and manage to get the same friends and family members every year even though they should know better.

Pat said...

Granny Annie: I know what you mean and I aim to be back on form next year;)

Luna: he's going to get big-headed:)

HAHAHAHAHAHA that was a good one!

I don't know if to be happy for de cat or sad for you that de cat is still alive an' eatin...what?? Fat balls!

I'm glad to see you and YTL in such good spirits.

My best best best friend does not like cats for the same reasons as you, but oh, how they love to scratch his pants legs when he goes to people's homes. hee hee

Pat said...

GG: cats always know when people are wary of them and they usually jump on my knee. I always remember my business partner said she got ringworm from her cat so I'm reluctant to cuddle them. Now all the cat lovers - and they are legion, will hate me:)
The cat doesn't eat the fat balls - he eats the birds and the mice that eat the fat balls so I suppose he gets his share of FBs.

neena maiya (guyana gyal) said...

Not even cat lovers can hate you, Pat.

neena maiya (guyana gyal) said...

Whoops, I almost forgot...my mother just told me the same about ringworm and cats. My brother in Florida who loves animals, told her about the ringworm. But he said it's cat poo that causes it. My mother was raking leaves with her grandsons and my brother told her not to let the children touch the leaves with their bare hands.

Pat said...

GG: that's jolly interesting. It's a pity pets can't be like teddy bears - no poo. Except wasn't one named Pooh? I'm rambling - up too early;)

lom said...

There I was thinking oh poor kitty, doh!

Pat said...

LOM: not just me then?

Unknown said...

Winny ther Pooh - A.A. Milne.
Oh, and of course my daughter Nea, who, for some reason I can't remember, was called Ruthie Pooh when v. young. (But don't tell her I told you that.)

Pat said...

Mike and Ann: mums the word:)
I wonder if you have sorted your picture problem? I'm still struggling.
